As a belated birthday gift, Ananth got me some super nice Rosemary & Co. brushes.  They arrived while I was out of the country, so this comic was maybe the third time I've used them.  It is difficult, the brush has to be held differently and I don't have quite as much control over the line.  You guys might have to bear with a few simple comics while I agonize over this for a bit! D:

FINALLY: The store now has the option to preorder ZooLOLOLogy shirts in Mens XXL/XXXL and Womens XXL sizes!  Sorry for the price hike, the larger shirts cost more.

I just read the entirety of this comic and I absolutely love it. 8D

India Ink

Yuko, I figured you might be the best person to ask about this. I recently started experimenting with crow quill pens and I've been mostly liking the results I've been seeing. One problem: When I'm using my usual Strathmore 400 2-ply BlueLinePro art boards with these crowquills, the sharp point of the crowquill often picks up paper fibers and dilutes the lines and makes it very problematic.

Do you have any suggestions as to what paper or pen tips I should use for inking on Strathmore paper?

(I use Bombay India Ink from Dr. Ph. Martin's, btw)

I forgot to mention, if you can, email me about it, Yuko. I'd appreciate that.

So was the thing with the boat a 30 Rock reference too? I'm guessing it was.

...If I ever go to Japan, I would stand by that door and wait for something to happen to warrant my using of said chute.

I have seen one in action

At the university I attended in Japan they had these on the upper floors. My professor got to try one out on a fire safety day when he first started working there, he said it was weird jumping into a sac from a fourth story window, but that it did infact work quite well. The one he tried was designed with a twisting spiral down the middle so it's kind-of like going down a fabric slide as you fall.

Anyway to make a long story short they do exist, it is a chute in every sense of the word, and they are not obsolete. In fact the ones I've seen were made in the past 6 years (since that's how old the building was).

Superb site you have here but I was wondering if you knew of any discussion boards that cover the same topics talked about here? I'd really like to be a part of group where I can get opinions from other knowledgeable people that share the same interest. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Many thanks! Bobby Ouimet
