This is a thing that happened at Connecticon! By now, I'm pretty used to being picked up out of the blue. I guess it's one of those things that happens when you're as small as I am. It was surprising (and impressive!) when Jackson got both me and Ananth at the same time though. XD (note to people: if you do not know me, do not pick me up at a convention. I am very serious about this. Either Ananth or myself will knock your block off. >8( )

A lot of people asked about the recipe that Jes was talking about in the last comic, so Ananth asked her to it to us:

1 boxed vanilla cake mix
-mix as directed by the box; but add 4tbsp of almond extract
-bake as directed on box
-allow to cool
-unmold and cut into layers (4 of them if two 8" pans were made)

1 box of lemon pudding mix
-mix with amount of milk listed for the pie filling instructions
-allow to set

Fresh Berries

Construction:
-one layer of cake
-1/4 cup of lemon pudding
-berries
-repeat
-eat

ADDITIONALLY, SHIRTS ARE UP AT THE STORE! There are ZoLOLogy and Phoenix Down tees in mens and ladies sizes. The Phoenix Down are in a limited run on charcoal grey. :D

Nearly all preorders have now been shipped out! (a very small handful will be shipped out tomorrow.) All domestic orders should be arriving next week or earlier. :D

As far as your tweet is concerned: I kind of figured but didn't assume you two were dating.
As for you seeming like a dude... it was one of the originally amusing parts of the comic before I bothered to read the first few. Can't deny the slightest disappointment.

As for the comic: terrifyingly cute.

Lawls. Good thing you added in that picking-you-up disclaimer for strangers because you just know.. SOME dude at a con would have totally done it and thought it was hysterical until the physical harm came him way.

I can't seen Ananth knocking someone's block off. Oh, I can definitely see him retaliating in an appropriate manner, but I'd envision cannons rising up out of his forearms, his fists turning into lions' heads and flying at the offender, or just giving a righteous, baseball cap-wearing Carebear stare.
You, on the other hand, I can TOTALLY see grabbing a stepladder to brain somebody.

We couldn't put it in without making the comic clunky, but Rachelle actually yelled at me for 5 minutes and I was just too deaf to hear. I was flustered mostly because I managed to somehow not notice that Yuko had been carted off. XD

I always assumed you were female. The dating I wasn't so sure about, since the line between close friends and dating couples can be hard to define if they're not doing something obvious.

We try to keep it out of the comics as much as we can because we're 1. private and 2. walking a fine line doing an autobio comic. In this case, it helped add context to the situation (and made it funnier), so we put it in!

I love the comic and the style of humour you guys bring in everything you do. I'm just glad to have that little bit more info that ties your characters (and obviously yourselves) together... I've been scratching a hole in my scalp about that one for months.

I couldn't stop laughing to Ananth rolling up his sleeve and kidnapping you back. (is it still kidnapping when you steal an adult?)

Oh man, D: I totally failed to see Yuko on my convention circuit. :( super sad times.

I'm... REALLY GLAD Ananth can still hold on to Yuko despite getting hoisted into the air. If I was Ananth, I think I'd freak out a bit.

This cake business is amazing. Trust Jes to make a cake with pudding/pie filling instead of frosting.

I almost had my first frame of my comic for that weekend having Ananth chase after a crowd running off with Yuko. Guess I'm glad I didn't or I would have been blamed for it. (Yuko will probably still kill me for the first frame tho... http://www.kaitou.org/comic/archives/177 )

It's my birthday on monday and I've been at a loss for a cake! That sounds SUPER delicious. Problem solved.

Been a lurker for a while. I used to follow Yuko when she did Fallen. I was sooo glad to find her again and so sad I couldn't find Annath at Otakon. :( Maybe next year!
I can sort of sympathize with Yuko... except it's my hands and feet usually being made fun of as I wear a size 3 & 1/2 ring and size 5 1/2 or 6 in shoes, except for my Converse which are 5's O_o

Yuko is clearly like 5 pounds, but I am also pretty light for my height! Also Jackson (I think) works in construction, so he has some arm strength.

Picking people up because they're small seems like odd behavior to me. If there's something to understand about it I don't get it but it looks cute in the comic though.

I am absolutely terrified of being picked up, and I'm 5'8". I just don't feel like I would bounce at all if dropped even from only 1 foot up. T_T scary!

BTW, ordered the fox print and it is so superfantastically awesome, thank you! Also loving that the envelope was handwritten by one of you... I feel like I have met a superstar when I hold it. /creepy stalker
