*sob* Internet ... come back to meeee
AHHHHHH we still don't have internet - sorry we couldn't reply to comments the last time around. There seems to be a notion that John and Conrad are dead and replaced! This is not the case at all. Conrad is still living with us, and John lives just 6 blocks away from us - we've actually been uploading the comics from his place until we get hooked up to sweet, sweet internet.
Actually, having no internet has been pretty stressful, since we tend to do most of our business over the web ... if you guys e-mail us and we don't get back to you right away, please be patient! This is a difficult time for us. *sob* The comic will continue to be posted a tad slow, and we'll be slow to reply to comments.
good byeeeeeeeee (forever) *sob*

C'mon, guys, you are on a 5th floor...
Comment by Brandano (not verified) Tue, 08/25/2009 - 14:56Have you tried using a cantenna?
I did that when i moved into
Comment by DisposablePal (not verified) Tue, 08/25/2009 - 14:59I did that when i moved into my new place, i dont envy your current state. I snapped around day 3 ...it was not pretty. I drove around my neighborhood just to steal internet, i'm not proud of the things i did. ...don't judge me!
and I get tired of one day
Comment by MeisterJ (not verified) Tue, 08/25/2009 - 15:02and I get tired of one day with no internet. more power to y'all up there with no net.

Comment by Chelsea (not verified) Tue, 08/25/2009 - 15:06Oh man, I totally know the feeling. When we moved to Japan in 2004, and then when we came back to the US in 2007, we were without internet for several weeks each time. It's very difficult to get things done! D:
I like Day 7 the best. :B
Hello to Mike and Steve, I
Comment by Kyon (not verified) Tue, 08/25/2009 - 15:09Hello to Mike and Steve, I look forward to your addition to JW's antics.
My heart is with you all for this tough, interwebless time. 1st world troubles can be harsh. lol.
Hahahaha, tell me about
Comment by Ananth Tue, 08/25/2009 - 15:26Hahahaha, tell me about it.
Also, to be fair, my cousins in India get internet faster and more efficiently than this.
No kidding.
Comment by Kyon (not verified) Tue, 08/25/2009 - 16:45I visited a college mate in Nepal, during so visited parts of India, there was decent connection almost everywhere but nothing beat the stuff I found in Japan, haha.
I suspect Korea has good
Comment by Ananth Wed, 08/26/2009 - 11:54I suspect Korea has good connections as well!
It's probably Day 3
Comment by Geoff (not verified) Tue, 08/25/2009 - 15:17I bet it's Day 3 that didn't actually happen. This is the Internet Age. No one knows how to sit around and "talk" anymore. All communication is done through email, IM, and chat room.
Conversation is a dead language. :>}
And a big welcome to Mike and Steve. Brace yourselves.
Conversation
Comment by Stephen Tripp (not verified) Tue, 08/25/2009 - 20:16To mildly paraphrase a favorite move:
"And we are singlehandedly killing the art of conversation."
:)
(See the movie "If Looks Could Kill", starring Richard Grieco, for the original quote . . .)
Yay for Mike and Steve.
Comment by Annie (not verified) Tue, 08/25/2009 - 15:19... Not so much for the lack of Internet.
I didn't have Internet for, like, two weeks when I moved in to my new place. Oh, my God. Total nightmare. Worst thing to ever happen to anyone ever.
Poor, poor people. I would
Comment by Corrin (not verified) Tue, 08/25/2009 - 15:28Poor, poor people. I would not be able to survive.
Also, Ananth, are you always wearing the same hat, or do you have multiple? I was curious to the brand name of your hat/s? :P
Oh for sure. Same hat every
Comment by Rachelle (not verified) Wed, 08/26/2009 - 01:56Oh for sure. Same hat every day. It's just a black hat. Not sure what the brand is :o
I replace my hat every so
Comment by Ananth Wed, 08/26/2009 - 12:00I replace my hat every so often! I wore the first one for a long time, and I learned my lesson. I buy them at Lids.
Whoa! Mike and Steve!
Comment by Fridge_Kun (not verified) Tue, 08/25/2009 - 15:44Wow! It's newcomers! Hi Mike and Steve!
JW seems to be getting more interesting all the time!
Tough break on the internet-less days.
No internet?!
Comment by Sidka (not verified) Tue, 08/25/2009 - 15:51That sucks. I remember when I went overseas I was without internet for a month and a half. I had to go outside to amuse myself. *shudders*
I hope your internet comes in soon. Have you tried using the internet on your cell phones or anything?
I think Mike's the only one
Comment by Ananth Wed, 08/26/2009 - 12:00I think Mike's the only one who has it on his phone, but it's tough to get any work done that way.
My work here is done
Comment by Joe D (not verified) Tue, 08/25/2009 - 16:09Aha! New stat sheets! Most excellent.
The best (worst) thing about losing internet for long periods of time is coming back to some 500-odd messages in one's inbox.

Comment by Alcnolien (not verified) Tue, 08/25/2009 - 17:17It's scary to think about just how much of everyones lives depend on the Internet these days, huh....
Stay strong, everyone! With patience, the internets will return to you, and there will be much glory and rejoicing!
And cake!
I'm bored
Comment by rejectedlogic (not verified) Tue, 08/25/2009 - 17:49I bet if I say "banana" enough in these comments, I will become infamous on this site.
Get your Free Internet Access! (well, maybe)
Comment by Dorkorama (not verified) Tue, 08/25/2009 - 19:53Have you considered calling the local Library to see if they provide Internet access and, if so, inquired what's required to get a card? There usually are restrictions on the access (certain sites blocked, time limits, requiring specific permission for using flash drives, etc.) Given that you just need to check on comments, it could be enough.
I'm shooting my mouth off here without really knowing how you are uploading and I didn't thoroughly check the older news, so I may just be sounding stupid.
Naw, you're fine, we
Comment by Ananth Wed, 08/26/2009 - 12:02Naw, you're fine, we appreciate the suggestion! We did try the library, but the wifi was too slow for uploads, unfortunately.
The internet is the 6th sense
Comment by Sarah (not verified) Tue, 08/25/2009 - 20:45and library internet is seriously depressing. I just about burst into tears this morning when I couldn't get my laptop to connect to my uni's net. I hassled IT and we got it sorted, my net is capped to dial up speed at home until the 28th. I can't imagine how people live/d without it.
hellooo
Comment by JaguarJax (not verified) Tue, 08/25/2009 - 21:57hi Yuko, hi Ananth - I've been reading Johnny since forever, & thought it might be about time to say hi. so... hello! sorry about your weblessness. I see you reverted to pre-internet culture (tribal warfare) in no time. here's hoping the net brings peace back to your apt... I'm worried Yuko might hurt someone
oh yeah - nice bass Steve

Painful...
Comment by djSARS (not verified) Tue, 08/25/2009 - 23:19It is truly the most terrible thing.
I've been sailing across the Pacific (Sasebo, JA -> Hawaii, US) for two weeks - even using slow internet is so painful, especially when there's five other crewmembers waiting to use the computer while a page loads.
Internet Cafes
Comment by Ramiel (not verified) Tue, 08/25/2009 - 23:27Don't loose hope just yet! Head to the nearest Starbucks or restaurant and use their wi-fi. And if they charge you for using their internet, charge them with a fist-full of POW! or send them the goddamn Batman (aka Hawk) :P
What a fragile world we live in. Internet goes out, everyone goes ballistic...or bored to death D: Reminds me of that northeastern blackout of 03'
Good times...
Wireless
Comment by Zehnoda (not verified) Tue, 08/25/2009 - 23:28I kinda don't have internets. I am still in college so I have campus wireless. But none in my room. I guess the good thing is that it gets me away from my room. Oh yea, internets is on purpose. I started doing it to mock a certain politician and it became a habit.

Comment by Robert V Aldrich (not verified) Wed, 08/26/2009 - 08:49Who are the three combatants in frame three acting out last night's episode of Monday Night Raw? I gather the pimp with the chair is Mike, but who is that applying the Boston Crab and who is the victim?
THE SUFFERING
Comment by kai (not verified) Tue, 08/25/2009 - 23:38THE SUFFERING! I lost my internet for a day last week and I could barely deal with that D: I hope you guys can get it up soon, and sorry you have to deal with face to face talking! the terror.....
also, I got my phoenix down shirt yesterday, and an adorable Mola mola drawing :DDD how did you know my favorite fish!?
Mang, I've done this same
Comment by w1ng740 (not verified) Wed, 08/26/2009 - 00:16Mang, I've done this same exact comic script...though my ending was more on the extreme and suggested fictional suicide side. It was dark times.
Internet Withdrawal
Comment by Esper (not verified) Wed, 08/26/2009 - 00:46Common symptoms of Internet Withdrawal.
Dont worry in about a month you would have forgotten all about the 'net or killed everyone in the room. No worries.
(Long time reader first time poster)
School Work
Comment by Joe (not verified) Wed, 08/26/2009 - 02:59My internet always stops working without fail right when I'm about to do research for any school work that needs it, and doesn't come back up until about 5 minutes after the project is due.
I can't count the times I've waited outside the school library in the wee hours of the morning so I could work on their computers.
What a Joke.
Comment by Juish (not verified) Wed, 08/26/2009 - 06:45Poor babies. Maybe you should go out and get real jobs instead of pandering to yet another unwanted webcomic store with overpriced shirts and scribbles drawn by child minded adults.
Yes poor babies, following
Comment by Robert V Aldrich (not verified) Wed, 08/26/2009 - 12:39Yes poor babies, following their dreams and becoming successful entrepreneurs in an ambitious and growing field that appeals to a large segment of society and takes advantage of the newest forms of entertainment over the farthest reaching medium in the world.
They should definitely get real jobs rather than use the skills they've developed through hardwork, extensive study, and years of arduous effort in order to successfully create new and distinctive works enjoyed by thousands of people around the world.
Because running a successful webcomic and clothing company is so very easy and clearly isn't a real job.
No Internets?!?
Comment by Virtual Bob (not verified) Wed, 08/26/2009 - 06:45Multiple days?!?
That's just...
OMG...
I can't even...
During the Gowanda flood, I went without power for a day. Oddly enough, it was the lack of internet access that I felt the most.
Hey...
Comment by John Kelly (not verified) Wed, 08/26/2009 - 12:16My extended family was hit by that flood, my cousins are still helping to clean up. I'd have probably gone over to lend a hand if I was still upstate.
I'll be glad to check up on them for you
Comment by Virtual Bob (not verified) Wed, 08/26/2009 - 14:00Give me a last name and a street and I'll be glad to check up on them for you, if you'd like.
They're actually scattered
Comment by Anonymous (not verified) Wed, 08/26/2009 - 20:38They're actually scattered all around Gowanda and Collins Center, hehe, it's like 20-some people. They've been making facebook posts about it, and my parents have been filling me in. Thanks though!
(My Grandfather lives off Point Peter Road, right near the reservoir. Seeing those photos was really amazing and hard to believe.)
