It's been a year and a hundred comics! H-HOW DID THIS HAPPEN
Thank you everyone for sticking around. We hope you've been enjoying your stay. :D
I guess it has been that long, thanks for helping expand my webcomic list when I first started getting more into webcomics.Guess I'll have to do something to mark this momentous occasion. Now I must go thank Novil and Powree for the same thing :P.
Does not feel like a year. At all.
Honestly, JW is what I begin every Tuesday/Thursday with. I wake up, check if Johnny Wander updated yet, and get to my classes. It is a pleasant routine that I look forward to continuing for the next year! Congratulations Aido, Anath, and the whole rest of the crew! Thank you for working so hard every week!
Only a year? Haha, it feels like it's been longer than that, and I wasn't even here from the beginning. I think I started reading after your first guest comic at Applegeeks.
Anyways, happy anniversary, Johnny!
My god, it's been a year and you've only done *two* pages of the poem?!
I kid, I kid. Seriously, it seems like a month ago that I figured "hey, i guess this other comic Ananth's writing for could be pretty cool".
Yuko, I wish I could draw an iota as well as you can. As it stands, I can only churn out stick figures and something approximating eyes and a mouth.
Ananth, I will say, your appearance totally belies your sense of humor. Your conversations with your housemates are ones I could see myself having, and thats not some sort of creepy stalker commiseration thing oh god ill shut up now.
Congratulations to the entire JW team, and here's hoping for one more year of slice-of-life hilarity!
Ananth, I will say, your appearance totally belies your sense of humor.
Hahaha, my appearance is somewhat thuggish sometimes. ):
I think it's a sign of much awesomeness that there are so many of us who don't feel like it's been a year since this started. Some comics you read and think "Wow, are they ever going to get anywhere?" I've never once thought that with Johnny Wander.
Looking forward to more anniversaries here! :)
It has been a BLAST (even though i found out about this about 3 months ago) BUT A BLAST NON THE LESS!
And that nice looking fellow on this comic seems familiar... he looks a bit like the nice scrawny man that salutes me from the mirror from time to time, Except i don't dress so well ;D
It's been a hundred comics? And a year? Already? Wow.
(Is the man in the poem a tree?)
You got it! Nice work!!
Congratulations, 100 great comics.
Don't think this means you guys can slack off though...
Any word on possible posters yet? Still figuring things out? You should have more stuff in the store (and update the site).
Hahaha, on the contrary, we're sticking to our schedule like glue.
No word on posters yet - it's a definite, just gotta figure out what to make it of. We're not going to make a poster of ourselves because that's just ... weird.
We will be updating with more things soon!
A poster of you guys? That would be kinda weird (unless you are either secret superheros or in a band... or a superband). I think you should do something more along the lines of a picture of Johnny Wander and Maws in a setting, with "Johnny Wander" across the bottom. Like a legit picture, ya know?
Page 99 definitely says 98. Perhaps that's why I was surprised that this was number 100.
Damn, thank you! I'll take care of it soon.
Congratulations you guys! It was awesome reading your stuff. Can't wait to see what you guys come up with this year!
You guys make it too easy.
Thanks for sticking out among the crowd in such a pleasant way! Keep up both the autobiographical and fictional.
But it's been a year and I still don't know why it's named Johnny Wander! Who's this mysterious Mr. Wander who I've not seen? ;) Maybe I missed it...
There isn't really any character named "Johnny Wander" ... we just thought the title sounded cool and suited the theme of us jumping around a little bit creatively.
In that case, I think I'll spread rumors about a mysterious character from a lost comic ;) or I'll interpret the aesthetic as a person in my own creative work! That is, if it doesn't step on toes or weaken the trademark. ;)
...I guess perhaps the wide brimmed hat fella might be a wonderful personification of the aesthetic now that I think a bit harder ;)
Congrats you guys. I'll be sticking with ya for as long as this one is running. =3
I have to ask, is this update from something? If it is, I'm really interested in it. XD
It's original! Yuko styled it so that it looks like a page out of an old book. :)
It's actually scanned from a book of poetry--
FROM THE FUTURE
I have been enjoying the comic and just re-read it the other day. I'd seen changes in consistency and art when Anath linked to the comic of buying you a skirt, and decided I wanted to re-read the comic, and I enjoyed it just as much this time around =D
Anywho, this past year of comics have been entertaining, and I look forward to reading more J*W as time goes by
Alles gut zum Geburtstag! Sorry, I just finished a lot of German work. Anyways, thank you for the comics and the laughs. I hope to see you guys around the internets for a while.
I find it really fulfilling that I've been with the comic since the beginning.
Kudos on one year!
Thank you for sticking with us!
That's very cool - 1 year and 100 Comics later. It's hard ro believe and it's be great. Keep up the great work, and I don't mind them being a little late if they need to be.
Thanks for the patience! We usually manage to update on the day we say it updates, even if it's in the evening. Only missed that mark once, with the last of the Cecilia updates!
And we must wait another year should we another verse yet hear.
Aw dang, poetry comes so easily to some people.
It is hard for me!
Nothing wrong with that. No matter how "talented" at poetry you are (and I'm certainly not, I'm just a bibliophile), that which comes with effort and practice is really always better than impromptu.
That being said, congrats on the milestone! I've also been watching since the start, having migrated from a slightly less-regular following of Applegeeks.
Forty more years, Forty more years! Haha.
I just wanted to note that y'all draw some mighty pretty people, with some very funny stories/reflections. Thanks so much -- Johnny Wander is always a treat to read!
Johnny Wander is my favorite part of my Tuesday/Thursday routine :D
Where did the time go? It doesn't seem like a year.
Question: Is there one big poem that we see a piece of every year? http://www.johnnywander.com/comics/1
Also, keep on keeping on! I love his comic. Thanks!
It is going to be one big poem, but we're writing it as we go. We'll likely write the next one ahead of time, though -- this one held us up for longer than we care to admit!
Best wishes for the year to come :) I have to say, while most comics I read are always up for a review of whether I want to continue following them, JW is the one I never consider leaving. Thank you for making it so awesome :D
Aw, thank you! We aim to please. :)
you guys are already at a year?! Wow, time is just flying by...
I'll tell you how it happened!
Come closer, it's a secret.
you guys are awesome
I can't believe it's been a year already. Time flew, like the Maws.
I totally stumbled upon you guys by accident, and I love the comic and little stories you guys tell. The art is excellent, and I always get a smile on my face.
The Good Luck is for the future and hopefully another year of awesome comics. Hopefully more people will accidentally stumble into Johnny Walker and find amusement as I do.
WANDER, not Walker.
I've been drinking too much Johnny Walker apparently. ^_^;;;
A Century? A Centurion? A Centennial? A Centenarian? You've just reached 100 comics. What are you going to do next?
I can't believe I've been reading this for a year. Where has the time gone? *runs off to find Sherlock Holmes and Batman to find the past year*
Happy Anniversary, guys! And incidentally, "century" does fit.
This is one of my favorite web comics, bar none. Keep it up!
Hurrah for a year of awesome! :D
This is totally the first webcomic I've followed from it's start, so yay!
This is totally what I check for (insert update day here)-day after school. And what keeps the internet a little less boring for me. :DDD
Has it seriously been a year??? My god, I remember I started reading Johnny Wander when Ananth first linked to it on Applegeeks. I think I was there for the second comic?
Anyways, congrats Yuko n' Ananth! (Yukonanth?) Here's to another good year of the most amusing, charming little piece of the internet anywhere! =D
It's almost as though this marks the comic's venturing into the realm of fiction. Superlative work, all of you. I could only yearn to one day create something this fantastic.
I feel like you guys are setting us up for something awesome, without realizing you are already providing as much awesome as we can currently stand...
But now I am curious and enraptured, and it's been a YEAR? Goodness! Congratulations!
