Death's Notebook 1

Death has stacks and stacks of journals ... we were a little biased when we picked which page to share this time, but I'm sure you'll understand our interest. :) This is an idea we'd been tossing around for some time, since Death has a particularly long lifespan - and he seems the journal-keeping type.

Mostly repeating myself from Tuesday, but that post was up for a terrible short period of time - Girl with the Skeleton Hand pinsets are restocked, and there are 2XL and 3XL Mawzantine tees in the store. Also, shipping prices have been reduced.

We are still pretty swamped, so sorry about the short post again *stumble* *trip* oh no how did I drop that

Are Deaths' memoirs going to be getting round to a certain skeletally-digitated young woman at some stage? I adored the characters in that arc. I keep getting the mental image of them stood by a lake feeding.. something to a flock of maws now though :D.

this one took me a while to decipher. If you're gonna do handwritten script make it uber legible or put the text in the comments or rollover please. But in general your comic is fantabulous. <3

Doubleplusyay for giving the veLOLciraptor feathers! I mean, I like Jurassic Park, but the velociraptors are so inaccurate.

I think they were accurate at the time? The paradigm shift regarding velociraptors came in 2005, I believe! But yeah, accuracy all the way. :)

Velociraptors are about the size of a dog--they upscaled them a lot for the movie, and then during production science discovered the Utah raptor, which actually is a lot like the the raptors in the movie... so much so that they added the Utah raptor's claw as a movie prop.

So yeah, Jurassic Park is HEAVILY fictionalized as far as accuracy of it's dinos.

reached the strip. not very pretty, quarry nearby - seem's pure black limestone with thinner strata. flora unfamiliar.
birds - raven? possess no beak. teeth in breast? mouth? is such a thing possible?

mouth is indeed in the breast, tongue pink, vocalisation? unsure.

Also, fun that he documents it like a biologist or scientist or something. I don't know how many people look out for the geological characteristics and flora in an area.

Does anyone know what noise a maw makes? Besides the maw itself, that is?

I actually referenced one of Darwin's original notebooks about the Galapagos while writing this one. Neat that you noticed the language!

This may be a tall order, but could you make a recording of that so we can all hear it? If you don't want to do it yourself, maybe you could get someone else to do it...?

In any case though, I will know to run indoors if I hear a mrmbl.

But if I'm already inside, I'll see if I have food to appease it.

Seriously, maws freak me out a little, because I'm not sure if they'd attack me or not.

As a matter of fact, it is becoming an uncommon skill to be able to read cursive script in this day and age. Reading and writing in cursive became optional in my school, and I opted out, as I could use block letters faster than I could write cursively. Though I curse this choice now (pun intended), with this new era of technology will cursive script remain in our society for much longer? when was the last time you read a stop sign in cursive script?

I have Lucidia Handwriting on my computer for this reason. Fact is, most things should be in block letters. But cursive is like formal clothing. Just because it doesn't get trotted out too often doesn't mean it's out-dated and useless. It's a way to show real style and personality... Which is low on the priorities of a stop sign.

This is an excerpt from the first time he came across them! Since he takes souls to their rest, he comes across a lot of strange things and thus took to keeping journals.

I'd say I hope that Maws aren't poisonous, but it's Death! XD

And you know, I've never thought of what kind of noise a Maw would make. I think it would be like the shriek the pterodactyls make on the old Jonny Quest show. Either that or, "Graaack!" =D

Dangit! Here I was lamenting that I didn't get a shot at the zoolology shirts before I found out about y'alls comic and another contender appears! :O Any plans to restock the smaller ladies' zoolology shirts again?

Is that a metal-tip fountain pen? I can't tell if it's a brush-handled pen or one of the reservoir pens made to look like a brush-handled pen, but either way, I have a sneaking suspicion as to why Yuko's pen nibs keep dying...
