A little bit of everything!

A little bit of everything!

Tue, 06/22/2010 - 14:27 by Ananth in response to the sheddingest cat

This happened last week and I definitely double-taked. It was weird. For me.

Guys, it's John's birthday today!! Happy birthday John!

I mentioned last week that the ZooLOLogy and PaleontoLOLgy tees are back in stock ... so are the Mawzantine Crest tees!

First of all, I'd like you guys to think back to our 3rd comic - the one where Conrad graduates. Remember this photo?

Conrad's little brother Aidan graduated recently, and sometimes you've just got to make it a family tradition:

Oh yeah.

Lastly, a Maw guest stars in a recent Everyday Cute - too adorable! Thanks Claire and Andrew! :D

Why was I on the phone when I read this comic? I feel bad for whomever was on the other line when I snarf'd.

There might be a few pictures of my recently-graduated self with my diploma upside-down.

Clearly I am in the company of Awesome.

Comment by Samm Neiland (not verified) Tue, 06/22/2010 - 16:01

I foresee that if this tradition is going to end up like that kind of mirror effect where the last picture taken is always in the top left hand corner, going forever into the distance, until there are finally flying cars and holographic diplomas...

Shedding, Thumbs up, and Birthdays

Comment by Skie (not verified) Tue, 06/22/2010 - 16:33

And that, folks, is why cats with black fur make much more of a mess. But on the bright side, it makes knowing when you need to vacuum a BREEZE! Is the floor black yet? No? No need to vacuum!

Also: Thumbs up are the greatest addition to any graduation.

And: John's birthday is the day before mine. This is pretty cool. :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JOHN!

I've had similar experiences like this, except my cat is white & orange, and I tend to wear something dark every time I want to pet/cuddle him. I also have a White German Shepard that gives me the same problem...:(

ALSO, HAPPY B-DAY, JOHN! I have no idea how old you are, but I hope that you have a super weird birthday to share w/ us!

OMG!

Comment by MentalUproar (not verified) Tue, 06/22/2010 - 20:51

I grew up with a white German Sheppard. I haven't seen one since! I usually despise dogs, but that was one of my favorite pets growing up.

My brother graduated recently too. I should see if he did anything like this.

cat hair - the universal ingredient

Comment by Celynnen (not verified) Tue, 06/22/2010 - 16:58

Heh, I have a white and orange cat who does that to me every morning. He insists on standing on the bathroom counter as I brush my teeth and rubs back and forth under my chin. I have bought stock in 3M lint rollers =oP

Happy birthday John! time for cake and gross crime dramas!

Comment by Fraoch (not verified) Tue, 06/22/2010 - 16:58

My friend's Siamese does that all the time. He'd climb into my lap and star purring all cute-like and then all of a sudden there'd be white hairs EVERYWHERE. Great for the allergies.
The Conrad Graduation Pose should definitely become a tradition worldwide.

Happy birthday dude :D i

Cat hair (pffftth)

Comment by Razor (not verified) Tue, 06/22/2010 - 18:21

I belong to a group on Ravelry (knitting/crochet site) called "My Knitting Has Cat Hair In It." It's true! If you have a cat and you knit, there will be cat hair in your knitting. Especially when your put your project down to go get something to drink...and when you get back, your cat is laying in the middle of your project. However if you make a bed or a toy or a cuddly blanket especially for your cat...they often act like they don't give a fig about it! *shrug*

Wait, What?

Comment by Allison (not verified) Tue, 06/22/2010 - 19:37

Something looked off to me, then I realized what it was:

Yuko has PUPLES?? Since when?

I think everyone experiences this, for the most part. Only I have a black cat, a white and orange cat, a white and grey cat, and two calicos, so you're doomed no matter what you wear.

Happy birthday, John!

Death by kitty love! D:

Comment by Napping_Tinykat (not verified) Tue, 06/22/2010 - 20:18

That is a lot of cats, dude! How do you manage?! I could barley manage one cat at a time, so clearly you have the gift of true patience. (my favorite was a black cat named Salem; he ran away before I moved to Moore, OK)

Comment by Aido Tue, 06/22/2010 - 23:31

I usually leave 'em out, but it made the punchline work a bit better.  >_o  I'm firing myself for going off-model. D:

W-WOW, that's a lot of cats!  Sounds awesome! :D

Go multicat household

Comment by Jay (not verified) Wed, 06/23/2010 - 11:08

Coming from a house with 7 little fluffy kids of various color range, I can emphasize. It's so bad we go to friend's houses and leave cat hair.

I'm also very familiar with cats using work chairs as nap territory.

On the many cats subject,

Comment by Raven (not verified) Fri, 06/25/2010 - 21:36

On the many cats subject, I'm reminded of my grandmother's farm. She had this extremely large barn that was half filled with a wood stack (I can't for the life of me remember why) and every time you walked in there, there would be a flick of movement and stillness. Then, if you waited patiently, the wood stack would begin to produce a coating of at least a hundred kittens of all sorts of different colors.

What had happened was she started with few cats (only like 7, just a 'few' =P), and then most of them became outdoors cats (although she still kept enough and took in enough kittens to keep the indoors and EVERYTHING fur coats, lol). These out doors kittens took to the barn, and then kitteh stuffs happened and suddenly it's like 'Birds' but with unbearable cuteness.

Oh, and the Every Day Is Cute lived up to it's name ^_^

Also a belated 'Happy Birthday' to John

And I've lost my 'Creepy webcomics reader WHO ACTUALLY COMMENTS' virginity D:

I have a Siberian Husky who sheds pretty much non-stop (sheds summer coat for winter, winter coat for summer) I can't wear anything that isn't white and my bed looks like a shag rug from the 60's.

On a completely unrelated topic of epic awesomeness,
Harpy Birdday John!

My cat sheds in poofs. Like you can't brush her because it doesn't do anything, but when she lays down a poof of fur comes off her. Its weird.

My dogs though, shed like craaazy.

Thanks to you all for such a great comic. It always brightens my day.

Happy Birthday and congrats with graduating! :3 It's always good to feel loved <3 and smart!

Also, is it hard to brush your cat? I find it impossible to brush my puss. >; He is very finicky and I can't seem to find a good brush that really gets the hair offa him. D: Sheddy cats are hard to deal with, specially when you're about to go out clubbing.

Happy Birthday, John!

Ah, my clothes are covered in kitty hair. Good God! I have three long-haired cats, and two of them are giant Maine Coons. I can't remember the last time I had fur-free clothes...

Birthday wishes and shedding cats

Comment by Anonymous (not verified) Wed, 06/23/2010 - 15:14

Happy Birthday John! And congratulations to Aidan on graduating!

My cats don't shed that much, though they have a habit of sleeping on clothes that have just come out of the dryer. My dog sheds all year around. It's the worst in the summer; little tufts of hair come out when you pet her. xD

I see Yuko has the same drawing board as mine.

Comment by NKato (not verified) Wed, 06/23/2010 - 16:23

Does Yuko have problems with it? The one I have has a bit of a wobbling problem, to the point where I have to have it pushing up against something to eliminate the wobble completely.

It's one of those tables that you have to assemble yourself.

Comment by White Rhino (not verified) Wed, 06/23/2010 - 17:03

The creepy thing is hearing my neighbor's kids on their dirt-bikes and go-karts.

With the windows closed and the AC on, they're quiet enough that it sounded like purring just as I was looking at the first box of this strip.

HAPPYBIRTHDAYLOL.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JOHN! Share some wonderful birthday johnisms with us later :D

Congratulations on graduating Aidan! Double props for the pose. But you know, taking this to its logical conclusion, eventually we will have someone hold the diploma right side up but be suspended upside down themselves. That would be pretty cool. XD

I have to black cats, well... the girl has a couple white patches on her tummy, but she's forgiven. The black hair does get everywhere and I swear that they never stop shedding. Still, as have been said by others, it is easier to clean is up when the time comes. Only thing is that it sux being a gamer and it gets into you gaming keyboard, mouse and comp.
