Johnny Wander Vol. 1 is out!

I have to add a side banner soon, it has been a little hectic.

We have already begun shipping orders! Hopefully some of you are already receiving them - I got some twitter messages to that effect. We're mailing them as quickly as possible - if you ordered your book last week we will definitely be shipping it within the next 2 weeks.

NYCC! We won't have a table there, sadly (unless there's a miracle!), but we WILL be walking around. Feel free to flag us down and say hello, don't be shy! We certainly don't bite.

Our cat seems to prefer the Rook Method. Two of our dogs prefer the Mika Method. Our third dog tries Gonta, then urinates on the carpets/laundry.

I named my cat Gonta - because he's afraid of everything. he usually gets someone to open the door for him, then runs through as fast as he can. Possibly hides badly.

Which is hilarious because he's big enough and fast enough he could probably beat up a dog.

Our cat is a combination of Mika and Rook; she makes a meowing noise, and once you show up she opens the door. I have the feeling she does it on purpose.

Oh, I received the book on friday. Friday! I've been enjoying it to my hearts content. It's just like the website, only in print. You guys did an amazing job with the book. I can't imagine the amount of work that went into making it. Thanks guys!

I have a cat that's Gonta x10, fear-wise. She is terrified of everything that exists, and is actually a bit underweight because half the time she tries to get to her food, something (usually us) freaks her out and she runs off.

She's terrified of everything for no reason! She's underfed, as well, not because we don't give her food. It's because she is scared of her dish. Yup. She actually scoops food out with her claw, leaps back about ten feet to make sure the dish doesn't attack her, then eats it.

Then runs the moment someone comes into the kitchen.

I find putting the food on the floor works, but then her sister comes in and usually eats it since the other runs off.

freaks when seeing me around. But will most definitely stay when it's food time.
Both of them also have a knack at opening closed doors, much to my... irritation <_<

My cat actually prefers to have the door shut because then she can stick her adorable little paws out from underneath and play with whoever's feet are on the other side.

Wow, Mika is one of the most beautifully illustrated cats I've seen in a while. As adorable as Gonta and Rook are in this comic, my eyes keep going back up to Mika.

Yuko did do a good job with Mika. Personally I love the way she draws Gonta, just the big frightened eyes make the illustration for me.

My mom has a penchant for putting one cat in her bedroom and shutting the door. We have a brother and a sister.

If the sister is the one who is locked in, her brother immediately runs to the door and pushes it open for her.

If the brother is the one who is locked in, the sister will wander over to the door, sit on the floor right by it, and listen as her brother yowls.

My cat would starve to death if he did not have someone show him where his food is on a daily basis. It is in the same spot every day and 9 times out of 10, it's full. But he will not eat until someone walks into the laundry room with him and points out the food in the bowl for him.

Both of my cats use the Mika way but the first one will usually meow and try to get someone else to do it for him but the other can open any door no matter what state it's in (except fully closed). She can even open the sliding wall we have which takes a fair bit of strength. O.o

I'd like to say Snickers is at least the Rook of the lot, but truth be told she's not always that clever. She'll stand at the door and meow, then prod it in various spots, sometimes closing it more. Worse case scenerio? She jabs her face in the open crack no matter how small it is in an attempt to open it with her face.

More than once I've seen her try to push her face in and fail. I'd be lying if I said I didn't laugh. xD (Which is why most times she's trained the FAMILY ITESELF to open doors for her. She doesn't care if a door is closed, she will sit there for hours meowing until someone opens it. Hahaha.)

Mine's terrified of everything and WILL mew till you open it. But she's so terrified, she hides under the bed all day, eats, and sleeps. Fat cat will not play. -.-

We have a Gonta-esque cat. I once heard pitiful meowing from the bathroom, and figured he'd been locked in. Nope, the door was open juuust enough for him to get out. But he kept acting like there was just no way he'd make it, and please help. *sigh* Same cat got "trapped" in the shower. He slipped through the closed shower curtain to drink tub water, but then couldn't figure out how to get back out. We had to rescue him by opening the shower curtain.
Compare to our other cat who got locked in the pantry, but figured out how to get up to the shelf that was doorknob height and then turned the doorknob to get himself out. (Round knob, not one of those lever style ones.)

Our black cat, Tai, is chatty like Rook. Mostly if you walk into the kitchen (any time, day or night, three hours before feeding time or ten minutes after). However she too eventually opens doors.

Izzy, who looks a lot like Mika, is the best at opening doors. Mom lives in a mobile home and the cupboard doors are lighter than most, so she has no trouble.

Yoshi, our fluffyboy, used to open doors but now really doesn't give a fig. Although if he opens the bathroom door and sees Tai on the other side he runs away like a wuss. (Tai is twice his age and half his weight, ???)

Got my book on Monday! (didn't get a chance to post before now ._.,,)
I absolutely love it, especially the adorable top hat and monocle on my maw!!! I stared at it and squealed like a school girl for about a minute straight xD

Also, my cat is DEFINITELY a Mika. He has this extreme need to be wherever I am, so if I don't completely close a door, he forces himself in....he tries to open the closed ones, but luckily he has thus far been unsuccessful!

Oh man, you guys should have mentioned you were going to NYAF earlier. I won a pair of VAMPS Tickets and then found out I couldn't go to NYAF (grad school ruins everything D: ). So, through a friend to friend to acquaintance transition, there was someone who could take them off my hands. I would have much preferred to pass them onto you guys.

My two cats. Shadow is a fucking ninja, but can be kinda timid. She will open the doors, but will poke her head in to make sure it's safe, then ninja into the room. Oreo is a big cat. He will use the rook method first (meow...Meow...) but then will bodyslam the door open.

Got my JW book on Monday! Love the business card and the maw sticker. Seal of approval was pretty sweet too. I forgot to pick a hat for my maw but I'm loving the panda cap. Thanks and congrats again on book 1!

of all the doors in my house, my bedroom door is the only one that has to have something (kinda like a paper weight) to keep it open. which I rarely bother with, so my cat has gotten used to opening it herself if she wants to come in and nap or leave. it's even funny when someone is about to open my door, the cat will run up and open it for them (just cause she sees them going in so she wants to follow. she just doesn't wanna wait for them to open the door first =D )
