Cecilia looks pretty cute I think - third panel is definitely my favorite, nice work Yuko! That's the end of the arc, hope you enjoyed it. Hopefully we'll get to do a new one soon ... We've got some Maidens stuff on the shelf that will probably be the next color installment, whenever we have time for that. That arc will be about 10 pages - our longest yet! There's a preview of it here.

The artwork on this arc is just breathtaking, as is the story. Gotta love that wispy-tailed ghost cat, omg. And she took in the bird eggs!

This was a very cute arc with great artwork yeah but that kiss at the end is bugging me. Will the next story be The Girl with the Skeleton Hand and Face?

Nah! Someone explains it further down in the comments - the first time he accidentally used the 'kiss of death' in his nervousness. When we compile these into a book we'll probably just title that story "The Kiss of Death".

For a minute I was confused about Cecilia kissing Death without consequences. Then I realized, of course, the thing that skeletonized her hand was the kiss of death! Very cute touch.

I was expecting that when he came back he'd be bearing some kind of tiny little scythe, or mousetraps modified with them as the blade (and some way of detecting the presence of ghost mice)... given that his job is traditionally, after all, to collect the souls of the dead and send them properly to the afterlife, it would make some kind of sense.

Mice have died, he hasn't been able to keep up with them to reap them away, hence lots of ghost mice infesting the place. And Cecilia is the only human who can see them, thanks to the influence he has had on her... hence big irritatant problem. But, find a way to reap the mice (and crow, and cat) = end of problem.

I must be better at justifying things than I thought, because where everyone seems concerned about them kissing, it makes sense to me. Somehow my brain filled it in as "when he kissed her hand, Death wasn't properly controlling his powers. As long as he does that, they're fine!"

Yuko, I love your interpretation of those characters. They make me smile. Every time I look at Jon and Ghost I squee a little. I read A Song of Ice and Fire a while back and they way you drew them is almost exactly as I had them pictured in my head.

I love the Cecilia/Death comics too. Breathtaking art and cute story-lines. <3

Just curious -- why the change in hair style and skin tone for Celia?
Also, will you let us know what happens with the eggs in the next installment?

The original comic was done in only 6 colors - you'll notice that Yuko and the bro have a white skin tone while Cecilia and I have the brown skin tone - the colors are just scaled differently there. You'll notice that in work with a fuller palette she has the darker skin tone. Her genetic background will actually come out later on and lead to some fun stories, I hope.

Th eggs will most likely show up in later strips!

and YAYS ghost kitty to chase away ghost mice! ^,^V I often wonder if it's like that at my house, given we had PET mice at one time in our lives...and am sure all the cats that have passed on before us are keeping them in check! XD...I STILL swear I can see my cat Morris out of the corner of my eye sometimes ;_; and he was definitely the mouser in the family! XD LOL

You're right, 3rd panel is the best!

While I'm at it, there's something about Death's attire in this one and the first arc that seemed old-fashioned to me...does he wear retro clothing, or is it my lack of fashion knowledge?

I think the first date took place just before the Great Depression, so that's why his clothes look old-timey.
This is just Death being a classy gentleman.

Seeing the eggs in the last panel always makes me exhale in relief. I couldn't help but love how realistic the bird was, watching the ghost cat below her, but it made me so sad for her eggs!

I like to imagine that ghost cat is just chasing the mice, not ...re-killing them. That way they all have something to occupy their time. ;3
