Kitten car wash

Kitten car wash

Tue, 08/09/2011 - 15:45 by Ananth in response to kitten quarantine

More kitten comics! We kept her in quarantine until we could get her to the vet for tests and shots, and this was the scene that greeted us every morning. She's a little hyperactive! Except for right now, she's curled up on the end of the couch. Quiet cat is my favorite cat.

The most consistent question in last time's comments was about her name. She does have one, but I think it'll be more fun to tell you guys via a strip. Sorry to be a tease!

We'll be at SPX next month!

Ah, yes, the tumultuous kitten break-in period. I remember it well. I also remembering wondering how the hell kitty litter could get into a ceiling fan. I guess the $#!+ hit the fan that night (sorry).

I mean cats not cows

Well looks like you guys your very own Gonta and Mika now. Get them all together, throw some catnip in the middle of them, and have yourself a battle royal, or Cattle royal. (sorry couldn't resist the pun)

Hyper Active Cat is HYPER!

Comment by Jak (not verified) Tue, 08/09/2011 - 16:06

My advice (if you're looking for any) is to play with the cat until she's too tired to move. Then maybe newly cleaned bathroom will stay that way the next morning. Of course this may prove difficult due the busy lives I'm sure you both have.
Or you could put a cap on the litter box. Like the litter boxes that look like kitty outhouses so people can't see inside them.
For future reference.

Can't wait to see what her name is. :)

I used to play with my cat

I used to play with my cat until she was tired, too, but this is better at nights, when you want to sleep and it has the great idea of running after all the toys. A cat is like a child, you must know when to play with it and when to run like there's no tomorrow. Just kidding.

I like cats, but I can't understand those people who pick them up from the streets and take them home, instead of looking for the owner or leaving them at a shelter. I believe they're out of line with this type of love, but it could be just me.

Please for the love of god

GUYS MY FURBALL TOTALLY CHIRPS.

It's kind of bizarre and cute all at once. Not a sound you expect to hear from a cat. Then again, my cat is kind of weird.

Hasn't anyone got the audio

I swear, your cat comix are like a camera in my house. I rescued and socialized a horde of feral kittens (4 black, 2 tuxedo) and their mother. One time I had to put 4 of them in the bathroom overnight, and it looked like the aftermath of a hurricane...

Comment by Ananth Tue, 08/09/2011 - 18:43

If you have an issue with an order you need to e-mail us - I don't always have time to check the comments section.

You were sent a tracking or customs number by Paypal when the order shipped. You can track it with that at USPS.com. If you haven't received that yet, it means your order has yet to ship.

Again, e-mail us if you have problems with an order. Don't post it here. Thanks.

Man I would love to hear what that 'chirrup' sounds like! I hear it being the most adorable thing ever. :D

WOW.

Comment by Lyndse (not verified) Tue, 08/09/2011 - 18:22

My husband's friend has a hyperactive cat that does just this sort of thing. She likes to find little bits of trash and put them in her food dish, among other things.

She's also home alone a lot of the day: I don't think I've ever met a cat with so much separation anxiety. She'll tear stuff up just to keep herself entertained, poor thing.

My cats are too old for this sort of foolishness, I guess. But my oldest cat used to TEAR THINGS UP (and break things) too!

Sounds like our cat

Comment by the other ghost girl (not verified) Wed, 08/10/2011 - 09:49

He's a shelter boy but he's pure bred. He got thrown into the wilderness by himself when he was kitten (he was probably still a little dependent on his mother too) so he is really clingy. When we go on vacation he doesn't even sulk! He's just "OMG you're home! I was so scared! please don't leave me alone again I love you!" He's sort of adorable . :3 Anyways can't wait until the next comic

PROTIP: Our new kitten came

Comment by alanv (not verified) Tue, 08/09/2011 - 18:56

PROTIP: Our new kitten came with compressed pine sawdust litter -- it smells like trees and doesn't seem to get everywhere like clay litter does.

BROTIP: Wear pastel-colored polo shirts with the collar "popped," or flipped upwards.

Alternate Litter

Comment by Val (not verified) Tue, 08/09/2011 - 21:01

Pine does work well, just avoid cedar like the plauge. Newspaper, wood pellet, and corn based litters also work well, depending on the setup.

Clay based cat litter is the worst. All that silica dust causes so many resperatory problems. :-\

Brotip XD

I have a two year old Tux that makes that noise!! Supposedly he's also part Siamese and I know they do make that noise. BTW, you would not believe how many cats there are around that are black and white. I once saw a whole herd of them, kinda spooky!

Your cat comics never fail to make me squee!

Laundry cat is so cute, even if hyperactive. My own Eclair is needy when it comes to company. She wouldn't let me sleep the first night by her constant yowling, by 4 am I gave up and placed her on my bed where she promptly passes out on my dice pillow on the corner, beside my own pillow. :3

Hahahah, my own cat has been doing this routine for 2 years now. I remember how she used to meow for hours at first when I wouldn't let her stay on the bed, but now she comes by herself and purrs near my ear. Sometimes I feel I don't own the place anymore...

The sound.

Comment by Harold (not verified) Wed, 08/10/2011 - 07:38

I have heard quite a few cats that make that sound, including mine.

Bombays do it a LOT, and it seems to be some sort of greeting sound.

I'll see if I can record my cat making the sound.

Oh the "litter is fun let's get it everywhere, even in places you couldn't imagine," phase. I had two tiny fur monsters in quarantine in my exercise room while they got over their pound sickness. Now the one that was super quiet is very bad, and the one that was very bad is super nice! <3<3 Goodluck with your new fur child!

covered cat box

Comment by Althris (not verified) Wed, 08/10/2011 - 12:30

I recommend picking up a litter box with a cover. My cat has always been messy with litter, but now the cover contains most of it. One of those little mats at the opening that collects litter helps too.

ditto

Comment by giraffodil (not verified) Wed, 08/10/2011 - 16:57

We got my cat one that has a top-side entry. So basically it is a big plastic box with a hole in the lid that kitty jumps into and out of. No cat litter can escape!

^__^ Our cat did the same

Comment by looloolooweez (not verified) Wed, 08/10/2011 - 17:27

Our cat did the same thing the 1st night we brought him home. More litter on floor/wall/cabinet/tub/toilet/sink/kitten fur than in box. And uh, fair warning... that phase lasted like 6 months.
