Volume 2 arriving next Monday!

Tue, 11/29/2011 - 17:34 by Ananth in response to hand-face coordination

Yuko ... there's ... there's something on your face ...

Good news: Johnny Wander Volume 2 will be here on Monday! They'll be going up for sale some time before that, I hope - will keep you posted. Till then we'll be here biting our nails hoping everything goes off without a hitch.

Catch you Thursday!

I will never know why.

This has actually happened to me so much, but it's always a permanent marker for me... I'm beginning to question my use of markers.

"That's not a pen mark..."

Comment by Hoopajoo (not verified) Tue, 11/29/2011 - 18:09

"It's ..uh...War Paint! THAT'S IT, War Paint! Mention this again and I'll be on the warpath!!!"

Volume 2! I'm torn between

Comment by Jordan (not verified) Tue, 11/29/2011 - 18:59

Volume 2!

I'm torn between wanting one as soon as possible and wanting to pick one up from you guys in person at a show.

Patience is a virtue.... (Save on shipping...)

Comment by Tsarstepan (not verified) Tue, 11/29/2011 - 21:11

When's the next Lexington AVE Armory comic show? Or the next appearance in NYC? Whichever comes first....

Comment by Mari (not verified) Tue, 11/29/2011 - 19:01

So that's why I always have marker, pen or highlighter marks on my hand !!!

Everything makes sense now......

P.S Just saying as a few artist (waaaaaaay less talented than you lol) I liked how you colored the marker/pen so it focuses your eyes to whats happening, it's really clever!

Comment by RZEWYH (not verified) Tue, 11/29/2011 - 19:43

YEAH! Volume 2!! I'm definitely ordering one since it's impossible for me to get it in person at any show (I live New Zealand).

Comment by Darrin (not verified) Tue, 11/29/2011 - 19:45

I've totally done that before! And diggin the spot color.

This reminds me of when, not

Comment by Jukebox (not verified) Tue, 11/29/2011 - 19:55

This reminds me of when, not too long ago, I cut my hand while shaving. I was shaving my face.

I do this Alllll the time :p

Comment by z (not verified) Tue, 11/29/2011 - 20:01

I do this Alllll the time :p

Ahahaha, I have done this

Comment by JacaByte (not verified) Tue, 11/29/2011 - 20:38

Ahahaha, I have done this before. This is why I try to use pens/pencils that don't have caps and markers that let me put the cap on the rear of the marker.

What are you—

Comment by mannyC (not verified) Tue, 11/29/2011 - 20:49

Yuko why are you scribbling on that paper with a pink sharpie you are wasting the ink.

If I could count all the times this has happened to me with a pen. At one point I just started drawing things from the face-squiggles.

Comment by Tristan (not verified) Tue, 11/29/2011 - 22:10

I stopped opening pens with my mouth do to the accidental huffing of pen fumes that resulted.

I find my problem is forgetting whether I have a ballpoint pen clicked open or closed, so I accidentally write all over my hand when I'm holding it.

Just curious, at one point

Comment by wandering-dreamer (not verified) Tue, 11/29/2011 - 23:05

Just curious, at one point you guys mentioned you would try to have more CMY Cat shirts up, is that still going to happen? Would love to get one in addition to the two books.

Yeah, they should be

Comment by Ananth Wed, 11/30/2011 - 09:52

Yeah, they should be arriving in the next week or so!

Oh good. I thought I was the only one who did that.

I totally do this too,

Comment by Anonymous (not verified) Tue, 11/29/2011 - 23:30

I totally do this too, except it doesn't just happen with my face. I keep ruining my shirts from ink stains. (I often think it is closed but find out too late that it doesn't have the cap on it. Bah humbug!)

Oh, and this also happens with rinsing paint in my coffee.

By the way, I really enjoy your comics. They are simply delightful. :)

Use hairspray!

Comment by Heidi (not verified) Wed, 11/30/2011 - 19:22

Hairspray works wonders to dissolve ink without ruining your clothes. At least, it works on ballpoint pen ink.

I do that five days a week, but usually I just dot various parts of my hand repeatedly. Third time- usually the charm.

First there's Meredith Gran

Comment by Alain (not verified) Wed, 11/30/2011 - 02:22

First there's Meredith Gran throwing her gym shorts in a toilet by accident, and now Yuko's putting on war paint. Who's next?

Yeah....that's way more

Comment by Jessica (not verified) Wed, 11/30/2011 - 02:27

Yeah....that's way more un-fun when it's a needle instead of a pen.
Yes, all of us vet-types know not to recap a needle....but we all do's just a thing you do.
And every once in a while you accidentally stab yourself in the lip.

And it hurts like a mofo.

Comment by moritheil (not verified) Wed, 11/30/2011 - 07:45

That's why they tell people to not cap syringes now: similar (and more serious) problem.

Comment by Hohhoi (not verified) Wed, 11/30/2011 - 12:20

What's the situation with the phoenix down shirts? Any chance of having them in the store before christmas? I mean, it does take time for them to arrive to Europe via mail.

I hope I didn't sound

Comment by Hohhoi (not verified) Wed, 11/30/2011 - 13:18

I hope I didn't sound offensive. I just got that feeling from my post. Sorry.

No worries! We're going to

Comment by Ananth Wed, 11/30/2011 - 19:44

No worries!

We're going to try really hard - unfortunately the International cutoff is Dec. 9th so ... we'll try our very best, but for the time being we're waiting to receive the shirts from the printer. I'm hoping we get them quickly! Sorry about that. :/

Yeah, no problem. I'm going

Comment by Hohhoi (not verified) Thu, 12/01/2011 - 08:37

Yeah, no problem. I'm going to buy a shirt whether or not it makes here before christmas anyway. ;) (also, I bought the Adam Warrock shirt. I love it.)

A little tip for you:

Comment by GX67 (not verified) Wed, 11/30/2011 - 13:54

I've had this happen to me before, so I learned a neat little trick:

Keep a little bottle of alcohol-based purell with you at all times. Permanent marker is alcohol-soluble, so it'll come off if you wash with it.

Simply take a tissue, plop a gob of purell on it, rub the affected area(s) and scrub it out. Repeat until gone. It gets rid of most, if not all, permanent markers.

I'm always scared of doing

Comment by Shauna (not verified) Wed, 11/30/2011 - 16:42

I'm always scared of doing that, so the recapping is a very careful operation.

I uh, meant to do that...

Comment by fraoch (not verified) Thu, 12/01/2011 - 04:49

I've highlighted my face like that WAY to many times to count.

I do this allll the time.

Most. Annoying. Thing. Ever.

Especially when you don't know about it until your friend decides to mention it to you at the mall and then you finally realize why everyone's been staring at you... :(

Aaaaanywaay....your comics are amazing!
