Our black and white domestic shorthair gets called 'Sh*tbag', because he responds to the 'Sh..' noise more than his real name which is Patch. Also its amusing for us and fitting for him.

I have an orange tabby I rescued from my neighborhood. I named him Jonesy (after the cat from alien) he is also Little Bastard, Butthead, Little Guy or Hey.

A friend of mine named his cat Dammit on the rationale that it wasn't going to respond anyway.

Yeesh, I just realized this about my cat. Her name is Elvira but she answers more readily to things like Smellvira, Smelly, Pudding and Virus. I've been trying to retrain her to recognize Elvira, but the nicknames are too fun!

Our cat, Bonsai, ignores her name and responds to "Cat", "Kitty", "Meow", and "What're you doin'?". We also call her many combinations starting with "Cat-" "Meow-" "Poop-" "Fur-" or "Purr-" and ending with "-monster" "-machine" "-factory" or "-face".

My cat is named Nazilla (according to teh intarwebs it's Persian for 'cute'), but is also known as 'Zilla, 'Zilla-Monster, Psycho-Kitty, Qu'est-ce que c'est que ça (for the Talking Heads song, naturellement!), Kitten, Little S**t, Fuzzlebutt... the list goes on.

We have five cats with RIDICULOUS names...and lots of nicknames. Sarah Jane: Naughty, Brat, Noodle / Captain Jack: Lil Man, Mama's Boy, Rumbly / Milady: Summer (she's black with white "bikini" patches on her tummy), Fangs, Sobs / Number Six: Fat Girl, Kissy Monster, Bunny / Dr. Girlfriend: Baby Bird, Attack Kitty, Vicious. Okay, their actual names are weirder than their nicknames.

I call my cat Chloe, "Stinker", "Dummy", "Bloaty", "Fatty", and a personal favourite, "Poopsnake".

I have a dog named Shamira and we've always called her all sorts of names. Shamoofus, Dumb Dog (she's sweet, but pretty dumb), Mira, Moofus, Scooty Butt (not because she does the gross butt scooting, but because she actually will just sit and then kind of scoot over to the closest person to pet her, while still sitting), Seal Face...probably a bunch more that but I can't think of them right now.

If an animal's not going to come to you unless you have food, might as well call 'im anything.

My orange tabby is sometimes called "Yellowstone" because he developed a severe bladder stone problem and his surgery used up all our vacation money.

I think numbnuts and dipshit are the two names I use most for my little kitty-butts.

...we call her Fuzzy, Fuzz Ball, Fur Ball, Baby Girl, Little Princess, Boo Boo, and Ms Mew.

But she mostly answers to her actual name, which I've been told is uncommon.

I call her Fuzzy-Butt.

Chubby pants, fatty lumpkins, sassypants, cuddle dumpling. and really anything that suggests they're lazy or fat.

My pets don't have nicknames, they have theme songs.

My cat Lydia is usually Lydie-pretty-kitty because I'm a crazy cat lady at the age of 22. The dog Wishbone has responded to everything from Henry to Meatloaf to F**kbone if he's been bad that day.

My dog, Sophie, tends to respond to "Fluffy Butt" and "Sophie-ChuChu." My girlfriend's dog, Lolley, is usually called "Poopface," "Lolley Poopdeck" (like the guy from Flapjack, lol) and "Poop." You can tell we're all very mature in this household. 8D;

My brother has a little white cat named Arya, but she's more often referred to as "kitten" or "the kitten."

My dog Benji (who passed away last year after 18 years) was named after the movie Benji but we told people his full name was Benjamin J. Dogg cause he was fancy like that =]

Could you perhaps record it, or at least bits of it, mostly the John Advice, commas within commas, commaception, for those of us unable to attend because of the cruel regulations of the real world. I regularly leave out cat food since our complex doesn't allow pets. As such we have 9 or so "regulars" that frequent the bowls at odd hours. So far I've counted Bagheera (big boy, fatas*, big guy, or fuzzball), Callie (dumbas*, fatas* [when preggers], little momma, cutie, teeny, tiny, little one), and Mrs. Long (formerly Ed Long [long face, like a horse!], baby, sweetie, cutiepie, cutie, little baby) are the most seen and sociable.
The triplets (orange tabbies, 1. Foofy, 2. Shy, 3. Jess), persian (actually siamese cat but I always forget), puffy tail (poofy tail, fluffy tail, fuzzy tail), black and white kitten, The Doctor (grey striped tabby with a white underbelly and a grey mark under his/her chin that looks just like a bowtie!), other grey kitten (not actually a kitten anymore), and large orange cat (Arthur's dad [cat that ran off], giant f*ck cat, handsome) all frequent our bowls but aren't seen as often and are varying levels of sociable (mostly not).

My dad's got this massive black german shepherd named Zelda. My sister calls her 'Monkey' because she had a rash around her face at one point and had to have a lot of her face-fur shaved (it grew back, thank Yod). I generally call her 'Mush' because really, that's all she is. She's one year old, 110 lbs, and the biggest, friendliest mush of a dog on the east coast.

My family's three cats all have their own nicknames in addition to their names. I use the following on any of them: cat, kitten, fluff/fuzz-butt, or fluffy.

Jewel's exclusive nicknames include pretty kitty, pretty girl, and any variation on that (I'm particularly attached to her)
Lori's nicknames include stupid, fluffy cat, dumb-butt, and shedmachine
Tripp is small cat, attack kitten, squeaky, "Why were you sitting there?!", and any variation on "Argh!" due to his propensity for being underfoot

My brother's cats are better, though. He has Socks, also known as "The Fat One", and Leia, also known as "Your Worshipfulness".

My cat's name is Daisy, but more often than not she gets called Butt, Daisy-butt, Daisy-bear, Daisy-pants, Stinky-butt, Cat, and Daze. However, my personal favorite names for her are Getdownfromthere! and Owwhywouldyoudothat?

We have an old, broken down rescue-cat named Tam. She's hardly called it though. Most of the time she's Saggycat, Floppycat, Flabneck, Stinky, Barfy, or Stupid.

All in affectionate ways, of course... Though she does throw up a lot, and smell pretty bad...

my dog has far too many nicknames..my family has a tendency to give everyone silly nicknames, and my dog is certainly no exception. she's been called Tooitz, Witzie, Hoo-witz, Witzenheimer, Twitties, Nub-a-witz, Lick-a-witz, [other random words]-a-witz, to name a few. oh, and Daisy..which is her given name.

People in my immediate family (mostly my two older brothers) confuse my name (Sarah) and the dog's name (Pearl, a silver toy poodle).
So... Pearl licks the carpet 24/7 (or whatever she is laying on)

and she get's on the table if no one is watching...

I don't particularly have any nicknames for my pets (my cat Shadow is just Shadow kitty and the dog Angus is Gus or Gussy), but my parents have some great ones. My favorite are my dad's- he calls the dog Idiot Dog or ID whenever someone is around to hear, but when he thinks no ones is around he calls him Angy-poo or AP.

Yep, we've got three cats and a slew of weird nicknames. Curlytail, Vermin, Prettypaws, Lolcat, Varmint, Fuzzbomb, and the list goes on.

I call the male cat of the house furrnuts, and the lady of the house I either call Jazz kitty (Her name is Jasmine) Or sometimes evil kitty, or two face. (She is really mean...)

My cat's name is Shiba, but mostly I call her fluffybut, kitten, Chibi, Chibi-babe, and "Ohmygodshe'ssofluffyI'mgonnadie!"

If she was a guy, though, I would have called her Sir Flopsalot.

Aside from the usual "baby," "sweetie," and "sweetiepea," my girls Ellie and Smudge are often called "Elliemonster" and "Smudgesicle" (like "fudgesicle"). :D

Oh, and I have a goldfish named Goldie who is occasionally called Sean's Penis by my old college buddies, but that's a looooong story.
