February's experiment: Lucky Penny!

Hey guys! I mentioned this the last time, but for the month of February we'll be posting an excerpt from the book we're doing with Oni Press. The book is about an unlucky girl trying to figure stuff out. I wrote it with you guys and girls in mind - the humor is pretty similar to Johnny Wander. We're eager to share our work with you, and this will allow us to really dig into the project and bring the completed story to a release date more quickly. Hope you like it!

Besides that here are the other things going on:

Volume 1 is 25% off at Midtown Comics in Manhattan! We're featured in their Book Club for February, and we'll be doing some sort of Q&A at the end of the month. You can also check out their Facebook group for the event.
Benign Kingdom is our joint publishing venture with a couple of other folks - we are printing a set of deluxe art books! 4 individual art books that are collected in a hardcover version. The Kickstarter is ongoing, and you'll get them at a discount compared to the cost after we get them printed.
You can pick up both books at Bergen Street Comics! Volumes 1 and 2, there for the taking. Some of Yuko's originals are also framed and hanging on the walls of the store (for sale!), it is pretty neat.

Oh my goodness, only one page and I'm already set to buy the book. I think I recognize these ladies from Yuko's tumblr, and I've been wanting to see the story they were in. :D

The girl in the flashback looks like Lela. Perhaps a sudo-bio story on your friends? Also I've noticed there hasn't been an update on the Johnny Wander Facebook page since "Saxophone Cat." Not trying to complain since I know you guys are very busy, just a reminder. If it's possible I'd love to monitor it for you or help out, though I doubt it is. Oh look at me rambling, I should be going I got a...food...in the oven.

I dunno why, but for some reason after reading this page I was instantly reminded of the manga Solanin. Anyway, this is looking like a good story, can't wait to see the rest.

Since Jeph is now a tattoo artist in the Lucky Penny universe, and Yuko and Ananth have cameo'd in QC, does that make these universes mutually fictional? I wonder what Marten thinks if he reads this . . . "Something naggingly familiar about that big dude..."

I'm willfully refusing to accept this post as a bad omen having gotten my first tattoo yesterday :)

I don't know much about the distribution of your comics, but I never bought anything from the internet, so I was wondering if those two volumes and this comic are going outside english-speaking countries. Thanks. you guys are awesome :)

Oh my god it's Ten by Ten from the City Limits book! I loved that story! In fact it was the artwork and relaxed storytelling from that story that got me interested in seeing more of Yuko's work in the first place. I was actually just rereading the story yesterday. The artwork just feels so cozy and inviting I just want to curl up and sleep in the artwork.

Speaking of which, does this mean Collins and Acker are going to make a guest appearance in this city too? That part where they almost ran her over with the Aaron Burr had me in stitches!
