Wondercon this weekend!
Hey guys! We'll be kicking off our first ever West Coast Tour at Wondercon in Anaheim, CA this weekend! We'll have both Volume 1 and Volume 2 with us, come by and say hello! You can find us at booth SP51 - the table is listed as Tiny Kitten Teeth, so come find us there! Here's a handy map:

Here's a rundown of the whole schedule:
- Wondercon: March 16-18 in Anaheim, CA
- Floating World Comics Signing: March 28 6-8 PM in Portland
- Emerald City Comic Con: March 30th-April 1st in Seattle, WA
We'll hopefully catch you at one of these! See you there!
(Also, please note: because we're away from HQ for an extended period of time, I've taken down the items in the store. They'll go back up when we're getting towards the end of the trip. Sorry about that!)

Eat More Spicy Food
Comment by Rachel (not verified) Thu, 03/15/2012 - 14:22The problem is you think you don't like it, so you don't eat it very often. Yuko's taste buds/sinuses are probably adapted to spiciness by eating it more, so she doesn't have that problem. It tastes better when you are more adapted to it, too!
My dad and my sister eat a lot of spicy food every day, so they can order hot curry with less effects than the family members that don't eat any spicy food. I eat something spicy for about one meal each day and can order medium curry easily.
I bet those are tears of joy!
Comment by Tsarstepan (not verified) Thu, 03/15/2012 - 14:23Acid tears of spice filled joy!

Comment by Rebecca (not verified) Thu, 03/15/2012 - 14:38I must find you guys at the con. I want to bring you treats. I'll probably bring cookies from my local farmers market on Saturday. They're pretty good and the lady always sales out. It's only open on Saturdays.
As your taste buds scream in agony.
Comment by Anonymous (not verified) Thu, 03/15/2012 - 15:50Don't do it! You'll kill your taste buds!
stuck home reading your comic.
Comment by 13thprotector (not verified) Thu, 03/15/2012 - 16:07Well, hello again to you guys, from an avid reader of your comic as of a few months ago. I finally get a chance to comment to you guys after a while, but still keeping up with the story. I'd love to go to Wondercon and see all ya stuff, and others if I got the chance, but I'm still just stuck here, oh well, I'll just go read more of your comic...
Tears of delicious pain.
Comment by Bewildebeest (not verified) Thu, 03/15/2012 - 17:01The first time my New Yorker girlfriend took me to New York, she brought me to Jackson Heights.
I cried. And I ate more curry. And I cried as I ate curry.
She laughed and ordered some naan.
i feel you man
Comment by luckycricket (not verified) Thu, 03/15/2012 - 18:19i like spicy food now, though i didn't when i was younger, but

Comment by Kat (not verified) Thu, 03/15/2012 - 18:29I love spicy food, and now I want to eat some.
I've been reading this comic for a while now, and was so excited to see you guys'd be coming to Portland...except then I realized you picked the one spring I'm not in Portland. : ( I'm hoping that eventually, the schedule fates must align in the future.

Comment by meanderling (not verified) Thu, 03/15/2012 - 19:44I'm in the same state as WonderCon and I can't go and it's the Worst Thing :(
Y'all should come to Texas sometime. Austin is pretty awesome!
I also used to be bad at spicy foods but then the college and Sriracha diet cured me of that pretty quick. The tears are only weakness leaving your body!
Those tears,
Comment by Alex Ross (not verified) Thu, 03/15/2012 - 20:48They're tears of victory! What he's winning, I'm not really sure. Maybe it's his own subsection of the pain olympics.
The World Cup of Self-Inflicted Mouth Pain
Comment by Tsarstepan (not verified) Fri, 03/16/2012 - 15:12http://newyork.seriouseats.com/2008/06/brick-lane-curry-house-east-villa...
I haven't got the nerve to try it myself as I don't like inflicting this level of pain on myself by eating by myself but one day I'll try this very infamous proclaimed spiciest curry in the world dish. It's about a 10 minute or so walk away from where I work.
Damn, son.
Comment by Alex Ross (not verified) Sat, 03/17/2012 - 04:38Let me know when you grow the boulders of balls you'll need to take that on, I'll be sure to catch the next flight to the closest airport.
Only 10-12 chilis?
Comment by tahrey (not verified) Tue, 03/20/2012 - 04:10Really now. And what type were they anyway?
Toss a couple of nagas in there and bring the true burn :D
(I'd shy away from it myself, having already established my own tolerance level as somewhere around that of Encona Hot Jamaican Pepper Sauce - roughly between Daves Insanity Sauce and Dave's Ghost Pepper (both of which slightly more crazy co-workers have brought in and passed around), and a little below that of finishing a Thai Yellow Curry. That's already pretty hardcore, few other people I know can handle that level of spice ... apart from my brother who mainlines Madras like it's bolognese, and a chili-monster friend who grows and eats scotch bonnets and naga/bhut jolokias raw for fun O_O ... they're both scary food-masochists though...)
You guys are coming to
Comment by Kendodude (not verified) Thu, 03/15/2012 - 21:52You guys are coming to Portland? Oh snap! I'll be there! I hope you guys enjoy our city and don't take too much of Portlandia into account. Drink our delicious fantastic mega magnum opus awesome craft beers!
Same
Comment by Dart (not verified) Thu, 03/15/2012 - 23:20Yep, I know how this goes. I absolutely love Cajun food, which is ridiculous considering I can't handle even the slightest bit of spiciness in food. I'm usually careful about it, but every now and then my brain just goes "You know what? Maybe the taste buds have got it wrong all along, and we actually love spicy food! No harm in trying, right?! YOLO!!!"
Five minutes later, I'm deciding between cutting my losses and abandoning the meal or sticking through it and treating the burnt tongue later.
Do you guys know where
Comment by Tuesday (not verified) Thu, 03/15/2012 - 23:34Do you guys know where you'll be at Emerald City Comic Con yet? It's my first year going so I don't know quite how it works, but I know the building its in pretty well! I can't wait to see you guys!

No such luck
Comment by Anonymous (not verified) Fri, 03/16/2012 - 10:45No such luck on that confirmation. He could be sweating from the heat of the spices (it works that way if they're spicy enough).

Have fun anyways y'all.
Does your face turn red too?
Comment by Stella (not verified) Fri, 03/16/2012 - 18:46Does your face turn red too? Sometimes I just cry and can't taste anything but fire. Spicy stuff isn't my strong point either :<

Spice
Comment by AmbrosiaWriter (not verified) Sun, 03/18/2012 - 21:46While there are some people who can just eat spice and handle the heat from the get-go, most people don't just randomly acquire the ability to cope with high heat foods.
Spice (as in heat) is not a flavor, it's a sensation. If you want to be able to eat spicy food, you'll have to start with low heat foods and slowly work your way up to the higher-heats.
I mean, you could also just keep stuffing the super hot things into your mouth and take the "just throw him in the deep end" approach - but I think you'll cry a lot less and enjoy the actual flavor of the food a lot more, rather than being completely distracted by the sensation of burning in your mouth and sinuses.
so excited you guys are

I hope I'm not the only one that had that playing in their head when Yuko and Ananth's heads were moving.
I just really love you guys.
Comment by Ethne (not verified) Mon, 03/19/2012 - 17:38You guys are seriously the best! My friends went to Wondercon this weekend, and Yuko took a picture with a sign that said "I wish Ethne was here." I was so happy when I saw it! You guys are seriously the best people ever. Comment by Matt M (not verified) Tue, 03/20/2012 - 02:33Me and my girlfriend saw you at wonder con and got both of your books. My girlfriend is a hugh fan but was to nervous to say anything. Thanks so much for coming out to the west coast. it would be great if you did it again.
Silly Ananth
Comment by Bluecho (not verified) Tue, 03/20/2012 - 14:44One does not simply "change one's mind" on spicy tolerance. The spicy is a pain response, one's mouth literally raising alarms because it believes it's being harmed. Tolerance is built on repeated consumption of spicy material, and developing the ability to withstand pain.
One does not simply walk into the spicy. It is folly.
Huh
Comment by invisiblemoose (not verified) Thu, 03/22/2012 - 02:28Anath, I think you're me. I think you're most definitely me. Your sweet tooth and low spice tolerance confirms it.
Will be there on Wednesday
Comment by BaconGrease (not verified) Tue, 03/27/2012 - 00:20Hey guys, looking forward to your visit to Portland, I'm planning on bringing my sister whom I've just introduced to your comic. I already scouted how to get to the shop, which is now in my list of favorite places.
Wonder if you remember me commenting a long while back.

Comment by Giovanni Buckner (not verified) Sun, 05/27/2012 - 18:12My programmer is trying to persuade me to move to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the expenses. But he's tryiong none the less. I've been using WordPress on various websites for about a year and am anxious about switching to another platform. I have heard good things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress posts into it? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Giovanni Buckner
