Sorry about my absence this past week, I see that the site's still here, so I'll assume it went smoothly. Thank you Conrad and Rachelle for taking care of things for me while I was up with my folks -- it was too much of an inconvenience for everyone for me to borrow someone's computer for a week and lug my scanner and tablet and inks and brushes up to NJ while I was paying social calls. My computer's back now, but the hard drive's blank. I'm going to have to restore it before I can do anything practical on it. Thank you again Ananth, for letting me steal your computer.

While I was visiting, my mom and I found a file folder in the kitchen, its contents were pretty much scattered everywhere. Turns out it was from a filing cabinet or something from the upstairs. Mika enjoys laying waste to the house when no one is around. She tried to steal a bag of ginger chews from me right before I left. I think she just wanted to chew on the plastic bag.

My mom and I were commenting on how fat Gonta should be considering the amount he eats. We realized that he's so terrified all of the time, his metabolism must be amazingly high.

OH, and another extra special thanks to Conrad, for fixing that problem with having apostrophes in the titles of the comics. I wouldn't have been able to name this one without it.

This pretty much mirrors my cats, except the fretting cat bumps into everything on his way across the house and makes really cute noises. o.o

What's funny to me is right before I Read this comic, my cat was doing what I call its 'devil romp' around the living room. When the dog and other cat aren't around to distract him and he needs to entertain himself, he'll run back and forth between my room and the living room, sometimes attacking random objects as he goes, and if he's really worked up, will make bizarre growling noises that make him sound like a big cat. Or a demon, whichever.

Gonta reminds me of my family's bird, Sunset. He's an Australian Rosey Bourke and he is terrified of everything. He gets startled when the scene changes on TV, and when we turn on the light in the kitchen, he falls into his food dish. I guess it doesn't help that he can't really fly, so he just runs around on the floor in constant fear of getting stepped on.

I salute Gonta and Sunset, as well as all the panic-stricken pets out there, for theirs must be a harrowing existence.

My cats do this as well. Drives me nuts. One time I actually bothered to get out of bed to find out what the hell the damn cats were chasing, and when I flicked on the lights they both looked at me with that crazy feral glowing eye trick and bolted in different directions.

Gonta is a siamese right? They (and other oriental cats) do tend to have rather... Unique personalities.

We have a siamese who likes to steal various things. It started with small plush toys, then he moved onto plush toys bigger than himself (he and his ebony oriental brother are 5 months now so still fairly small). Now he steals pretty much everything he can, ice-cream containers, lids of random things, bottles, metal egg rings, toy mice, plastic containers bigger than himself etc. Size apparently doesn't matter, and anything that he can drag will eventually end up under the same footstool :P

And ours also like to stampede around like a herd of mini-elephants too, maybe they're worried about keeping in shape or something.

I've been told most black cats are actually Siamese cats, and from what you describe of your cat, I'm convinced now that my cat is one XD he does about the same thing yours does with stealing things bigger than it. He also hates playing with toys that I buy him, but absolutely LOVES ME when I give him TRASH. His favorites are discarded (as well as NOT discarded) pieces of paper, my homework, dust, various objects from my roommate's rooms, and my plush diseases and pokedolls, which I finally had to move,

Our cat, Bandit, is always grumpy. He's old and ornery. Though I believe he secretly wants to be a cat ninja. He'll hide in dark rooms low on the floor or behind a door way and sneak attack-swat at you.

Yeah ... drupal (very helpfully) stores them in the DB encoded as unicode character entities, which is cool! Until you need to make a link out of one of them, at which point it tries to re-escape them. Unless you write this:

l($text, $path, array(), NULL, NULL, FALSE, TRUE /* this is the param we need -_- */)

I should really just stop working in Drupal5 and pick up Drupal6. This is my mistake.

Can you add a \ before the " or '? That's how most code recognizes a character from a tag or code. My entire database is filled with things like: Chapter One: \"The Comic\'s First Chapter\"
which reads: Chapter one: "The Comic's First Chapter" and doesn't try to escape the code.

We had a cat once who liked piggy back rides. Whenever you lay on your stomach, she would hop up, sit down and start whacking your head with her paw and meowing at you until she got one. First time she did it, Angie was washing her hair in the kitchen sink. Pretty much scared her.

Kellie, my 10 year old Maine Coon mix, likes to sleep in my lap while I'm on the computer, drop her toys in her water dish for me to fish out in disgust, and love on my husband's feet. She really loves his feet for some reason.

Also, watching a small kitten pawing at a large dog's tail? Priceless~

My cats also run around like nutcases when it's dark, although they like the evening for it. When it hits about 9pm and all we're doing is chilling in front of the TV, one of them will do the "alarm call", which is like a really short, loud purr, and they'll start running up and down the house. We had to get a new couch last year because they started chasing each other along the backrests and ripping the fabrics. It looked horrible when we pulled it away from the wall. D: The new couch is leather with really really soft parts on the top, so all they do is clamber up there to nap. So cute.

Replace one of the cats with a 60 pound border collie, and you have my pets. They still chase each other around the house at all hours of the night. When Brigit (the dog) wants to play, she nudges the cat with her nose so hard she almost knocks him over. When Odin (the cat) wants to play, he runs up to the dog and hugs her around the neck, bites her fur, then bolts.

Odin also seems to take great pleasure in spilling water from his bowl. We had to put a mat with a lip around the edge under his dish so he wouldn't flood the kitchen.

I love this strip... It describes my wife's parents' cats EXACTLY. It's kind of scary really... I showed my wife the strip and she just burst out laughing.

I felt like posting this for some reason, lol. Sonny is the cutest cat I have ever seen. Not only is he fluffy. But if he trusts you, and you say his name, he'll roll around on the floor, look up at you with these huge eyes, and softly claw the air. You can't help but go "d'awwww!" And Ginger... she'll scream at you for no reason.

All of my kitties are more like Mikas, though--lovebugs with no idea of personal space and the idea that we will always forgive them no matter what they ruin--which we do. :<

Between me and my fiancée, we have 3 cats. One will wait for you after a shower and attempt to drink water that's running down your legs and feet, one will steal every roll of toilet paper in the house, and the other will scrape the walls with her claws. That one also has an unhealthy obsession with licking plastic bags.

As was noted above, your cat designs are fantastic. I quite like them. I was one of the trafficked readers from QC and like what I see here. Keep it up!

Talk to your vet about getting some Feliway, synthetic cat-happy-face-pheromones in a room diffuser. Might help Gonta relax and be more happy, plus you don't know they're there.
