Happy Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
This is a drawing of our door, and we have photographic proof:

The scary face that looks like it's eating the turkeys is from Halloween ... the turkeys are from Thanksgiving, identified top to bottom, left to right: Rambo Turkey, Pretty Turkey, Crappy Turkey, Trogdor Turkey, O.G. Turkey, Demon Turkey, Zombie Turkey, Christmas Turkey and Mawrkey. We had people over for Thanksgiving, (for which Yuko made spiral-cut honey ham slow-cooked in apple cider and brown sugar, string bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, mulled apple cider, stuffing, salad and George made garlic mashed potatoes - and for dessert John made pumpkin pie and Yuko made apple pie) and had them all make hand-turkeys for the door, which you see above and further above. It was a good time.
A few weeks later, Yuko and I were in the living room watching West Wing when we heard some voices from out in the hall.
"What the hell is wrong with your neighbor's door?"
"Omigod, I know, right? I have no idea."
We laughed so hard. After Christmas and the New Year we're going to put a Santa hat on the monster's head and a champagne glass in his mouth. This door is great.
Also! Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Hannukah, Happy Kwanzaa, and whatever else you guys celebrate. Have some good times! See you in a couple of days. ;)

A Door to the Holidays
Comment by Hollywood Car Crash (not verified) Thu, 12/25/2008 - 02:31I feel ashamed of the wreath my door is sporting now! D:
lol Really, neat idea I should try that sometime. The only time I ever did something that odd was when I covered my bedroom walls with news paper comics. Mostly Baldo, Zits, and Garfield. From ceiling to baseboard. Ah... good times. Happy yule! Or whatever!

Comment by Decad (not verified) Thu, 12/25/2008 - 13:19So not only can she fit in a dryer and draw but she can also cook, probably use a computer, be used as a makeshift weapon, frighten children and small animals, be used as a unit of measurement and who knows what other amazing uses?
Perhaps Yuko is that rare rare thing? A genuinely useful person!?

Comment by Farren (not verified) Sun, 12/28/2008 - 21:07For anyone who reads Megatokyo, we now know what Largo's "Cool Thing" is. It's Yuko!! For anyone who does not read MT, you should. (Shameless plug)
As for the door, that is classic. Only a true genius, or a four-year-old would come up with something like that. And it just so happens, my next-door neighbors just happen to have a four-year-old on hand. They have: a stocking and a raven made of construction paper, and two "wreathes" made from paper plates. One is definitely a Christmas wreath, but I cannot tell what the other is that is underneath it. I think it is something for Thanksgiving. I definitely remember there being a hand turkey on there.
I think you should keep going with the decor for St. Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's day. And maybe even Easter.
Thats another use...
Comment by Decad (not verified) Sun, 12/28/2008 - 21:09So now Yuko can compress her already tiny lovely body into a tiny tiny container and be light enough for someone to carry around with no signs of exertion?
AMAZING!
But yeah I'd buy one of those cool things if it had a Yuko in it lol. Then being such a nice bastard I'd set her free and have my throat torn out by an angry midget XD

Comment by Raika (not verified) Sat, 12/27/2008 - 02:41That's such an awesome door. I wish people around here would do stuff like that more often, but alas, I live in LA and we'll probably get crack/pot heads at the doors "admiring" the deco. Or just have it rudely taken off by management and fined a ridiculous amount of money, who knows.
That food sounds absolutely scrumptiously delicious. Hope you guys have a great new years!

Door of Awesome + 1
Comment by n1ghteye (not verified) Mon, 12/29/2008 - 04:59I'd be very scared of that door. That's like a crazy turkey death squad guarding your door.
The rambo turkey will shoot you with a bow and arrow(with explosive tip), the trogdor turkey will burninate you, followed by O.G. turkey pulling an AK-47 outta nowhere lighting you up like a christmas tree, to which christmas turkey would proceed to bombard you with presents and coal, all while demon turkey mutilates you, zombie turkey devours you, pretty turkey paralyzes you (because it's too damn pretty), and the crappy turkey will crap on you. Not necessarily in that order.
Perfect to scare off solicitors though!
Epic door is epic.

Cuttings of evergreen are sweet compensation for the leaves that are missing from most of the trees, and the tart hues of winter berries are reminders that nature has not forgotten about color, even though the garden is no longer in bloom. Add wide ribbons and twinkling lights, and holiday spirit brims over.

Comment by Dekra-Lite (not verified) Fri, 04/08/2011 - 08:14Thanks for giving great information about Christmas, the same sort of rules apply, decorations can be eaten and cause trouble. Don't be a turkey! Be careful with the placement of Thanksgiving props and remember cooked turkey bones get lodged in your pet. Keep the ribbons, tinsel and other ornaments high on the tree and not deep in your pet.

This is the symbol of great happiness.
