So this guy walks into a post office ...

All of this took place at the post office from which Yuko and I do most of our shipping. I was mailing off one of our old Phoenix Down shirts so the printer would know what palette to use -- they're arriving this week, by the way!

I gave Yuko a description of this woman and she captured her likeness to an uncanny degree, so I personally cannot look at this comic without getting really creeped out. Good job babe! I th-think.

Also ... it's too bad the comic isn't in color, because her sweater was awesome. Purple, red and green stripes ... VERY YES

That's it for me ... still sick! Oh, and a heads up ... site revisions are around the corner! Conrad's been working really hard. :D Thanks man! *snf*

get well and creppy

i dont know what scares me more, not knowing what those kind of people are gonna do next, or i understand them more than most people do. How bad would it be if Yuko hung a copy of this all over your room while u slept? Also get well =D

I would have smacked her around the head with something heavy and said "DID YOU PREDICT THAT FRAUD?!"

She wasn't really upset

She wasn't really upset about the other post office, she was upset because she knew this comic was coming.

Yeah, I've come across

Comment by Sonic (not verified) Tue, 01/27/2009 - 02:03

Yeah, I've come across people like that. My first reaction is always back away slowly...

Back away slowly?

You must flee like there is a tiger trying to bite you in the bum!

I like to quietly agree with them so they don't feel threatened and then just leave. Immediately.

What on earth do you say to that?!

The correct answer is you

The correct answer is you don't.

Be careful, she may put a voodoo hex upon you for speaking of her with such disrespect.

Then perhaps pray to the sun god to smite you.

Or burn her incense sticks in your general direction.

Man, I wish I were a clairvoyant empath. I have to settle for just being clairvoyant.

But now if the woman sees

But now if the woman sees this comic, she'll know who to hunt down. 8|

Heh, had a lady like that

Comment by Zelly (not verified) Tue, 01/27/2009 - 09:20

Heh, had a lady like that once when I was waitressing. She drew a big astrological/magic map thing on her napkin and kept trying to guess my birth month. Got it right on the 4th try heh. Then asked for my manager and did the same for him, getting upset when she failed and saying that our frequences were misaligned. O_o

It's people like her that

Comment by Dani (not verified) Tue, 01/27/2009 - 09:29

It's people like her that give the rest of us a bad name D:(
Also hope you're feeling better soon Ananth!

You should sell a tshirt in the design of that sweater, in those colors. It would sell like hotcakes, sir, hotcakes!

I live in New York and meet so many people like that! Guess there is no escaping them.

Comment by Gikamoth (not verified) Tue, 01/27/2009 - 20:18

Actually that lady looks quite like a friend of mine's mum. Also it almost sounds like something she would say, except she would make a comment about her back.

Well, the upside is that if two creepy people meet, I don't think the creepyness multiplies~

Dude i had the same sweater

My mother was a post office

Comment by w1ng740 (not verified) Wed, 01/28/2009 - 14:00

My mother was a post office clerk but one day I suppose her wrong use of words (chinese is her first language) offended some old lady and now almost everyday that creepy old lady comes in and stands in the background glaring at my mother....

Also and furthermore! When she has something she needs to ship, she purposely chooses my mother so as to glare at her at a closer range.

...just a related story.

Hah, wow..

Comment by ritsuka (not verified) Wed, 01/28/2009 - 14:44

That is pretty messed up, you'd think she'd get over it?

Creepy yet laughable

Comment by HollyWoodCarCrash (not verified) Wed, 01/28/2009 - 18:56

I once knew a person like the woman Ananth saw. Except it was a guy, he hung around the local library. I recall him yelling,(with a damage voice box mind you), at a shelving cart that you can take a picture from space with a cardboard box and a rock of your house in full HD.
Great comic! ^_^

Hah, I love that giant

Comment by ming (not verified) Wed, 01/28/2009 - 20:32

Hah, I love that giant textballoon on the last panel!

But WHAT IF she reads this comic?!!
or wait, what if you have local fans who from now on will try to get a bizarre appearance at that post office in hopes of a cameo? :P

This lady reminds me of the weird nanny in later episodes of Malcolm in the Middle.

This woman reminds me of Professor Trelawney in Harry Potter... heh...

on the topic of strange...

Comment by Frink (not verified) Tue, 02/03/2009 - 09:36

People like this always make me feel uncomfortable. First off, listening to twelve shades of crazy holds no interest to me. At the same time, I don't want to be rude and say what I really think, which would undoubtedly manifest itself as an entirely accidental, frenzied "NO YOU AREN'T YOU'RE JUST CRAZY DO SOME MAGIC TRICKS OR GTFO."

Instead... I just sit there, nod my head and keep quiet in the hopes they'll magically sense my desire not to be in the conversation, which both unfairly legitimizes their view that they aren't crazy, and reinforces my view that they can sense neither jack nor shit or else they'd have left me the hell alone.
