we know how to have a good time

Thu, 11/13/2008 - 00:33 by Ananth in response to exxxtreme furniture purchases

I don't even know what I'm supposed to write about! Except that, sadly, they never got a coffee table ... there just wasn't enough room. Some day guys ... keep on living the dream.

We went and looked at some coffee tables at Ikea, and all I can say is that I (we) love their furniture, and their coffee tables are no exception. Ikea makes me want to buy furniture I don't need ...

God, I'm seriously running out of steam here. Someone help me out.

Maybe I'm not as enthusiastic about coffee tables because I don't like coffee. Yeah ...

Huh! You seem like the type

Huh! You seem like the type that'd like coffee idk. (Conrad probably drinks enough for the both of you, though.)

Conrad drinks enough for China! And yeah, I get that from a lot of people ... I dunno, it's too bitter for my taste. If it's not Starbucks coffee that tastes so sweet it actually tastes nothing like coffee, then it's not for me.

Go out with you band of friends into the night and see what escapades transpire. I'm not promising anything, but it's worked for me.

Boring... but ADORABLE.

You guys should build a coffee table using an erector set, then you could fold it and store it out of the way when not needed.

OR get one of those cofee table books that has fold-out legs that BECOMES a cofee table.

These are obviously things to think about for the future

We've been surviving off our garage sale TV tray set.  They're okay, but can't hold a candle to a coffee table.

2. Coffee tables are good for other things.

Fort making
A shield from danger like bullets or Daleks
Dinner in front of TV
Playing with legos
Carving words and phrases into
A place to show off awesome comics and manga
Or the popular reason; sit drinks on it. That's boring and obvious though. :/

Coasters! and table designs!

But if you but drinks on them they'll get stained! or, some damage-like thingie...
Personally, I like it when they look all weathered, but you could make cool coasters! with dragons! or other circular things! or you could paint a dragon on it with would stains, or...(awesome coffee table projects here)!
I think I'm going to go start a forum purely dedicated to cool coffee tables...if there isn't one already.

The thing about coffee

Comment by Michael (not verified) Thu, 11/13/2008 - 13:09

The thing about coffee tables is that they require a lot of literary doodads (re: coffee table books). Our coffee table has become our dining room table and also a foot rest.
