then i got curtains

I should mention, yes, this did happen over the summer. And it was totally embarrassing and uncomfortable for a good solid week. Only the warmth and comfort of IceBat could console me.

Considering that my bedroom window at our last place was 1'x2', I should probably be grateful for the amount of sunlight that I get now. But it's been getting cold lately and the windows are single-paned and I can feel the breeze from the outside when it gets especially windy. We've tried to combat the problem by putting plastic over the windows and getting curtains, but it only does so much (but it does make us look really poor if you happen to visit our apartment). I've been finding myself drinking more and more coffee and assorted teas to keep warm, which also sustains my growing hot-drinks-and-caffeine addiction. Still, it beats living back in Rochester!

I should probably mention again, the pre-sale for the Phoenix Down shirts are still going on over at my Etsy store. It's probably going to run until this Sunday and we're down to maybe 10 tees until we fill our order goal. Thank you to everyone who's been buying, you guys are wonderful. :D

It does beat living in Rochester. Speaking of which, I'm currently pulling an all-nighter packing and cleaning because FRIDAY I DRIVE AWAY FROM THIS FROZEN RING OF HELL FOREVER.

It snowed the other day. Well, sorta. Looked kinda like sugar. Still, everyone danced and cheered. Me? I'm cheering that flurries are about as much as we get here.

It's probably because you left your glasses on the windowsill, which concentrated the sunrays into a laser of some sort, burning your ear.

I've gotten sunburned on my ear like that before too.Was not fun.
On another note,totally sucks that I'm still not going to get one of those phoenix down shirts.Maybe during income tax time -.- .

I don't understand, was the window open? I thought glass blocked UV rays. I don't know Stefan will have to come explain it later.

I think it will if there is a coating on it. Like how you can get polarized sunglasses, or sunglasses that will say 'Blocks UV Rays' on the lens. These buildings were cheaply built, I don't think they'd give us that kind of luxury.

from years ago in my highschool physics course i thought i learned something that just by the nature of glass and uv rays, that the uv rays shouldn't go through. dont hold this to me. i used to live in an old bank with the same kinda of crappy windows. caulk, duck tape and plastic work great, but breaking the window and making the landlord replace it with a new window=better.

It does get worse though. All my friends thought the fact that I had this sunburnt stripe on my ass was hilarious. So they naturally couldn't resist slapping me on the ass at every opportunity.

I would say that IS kinda sucky...

The only problem I have with the sun, is it gets in the way of my gaming... glare n' all...

And it apparently makes my "dark" girl friend melt, rofl

Have you tried applying temporary weather stripping to the window? It's really cheap and failry easy to apply,a nd it really helps keep out some of that freezing wind! Also, if you get a cheap, thick plastic shower curtain and hang it behind the curtains, or gaff-tape it over the windows it helps a lot!

My old apartment was like that and I used old socks and underwear wadded up to cover the cracks around the frame until someone made the above suggestions, haha!!

Ooch, that caffeine ache that you're growing now is never going to go away if you don't combat it quick! :O peet's coffee continues to take a huge chuck of change out of me.

Ironic that I wish it would get colder and snow a bit more up here (Rochester) but agree with ya that some of the more frost bitten days are just miserable, enjoy your warm drinks and good luck with combating the cold (feel so late to the party posting over half a month after the comic).

you could try multiple curtains, or sewing/stapling more layers to the ones you already have. T-shirt or jean material might work.

Also, I have a different problem. Can't sleep sometimes Nless it's dark, so for the past 20 years I've just thrown blankets over the curtainrods and called it good. >:(

i too have a comforting sweet icebat, and also uglydog. sad that i cuddle with them in bed rather than the person sharing the bed or my real dogs, but uglydolls are irresistable. p.s. this was about 1 3/4 years late, couldn't resist though.
