Hey guys! Just wanted to give you a heads up, comic will be up Friday. Unforeseen circumstances and all that. See you tomorrow!
(Oh, there's a surprise going up in the store tomorrow too!)
You'll also recall the Quesodillo. The Koalacanth is a prehistoric holdout, adapted to the deepest, darkest parts of the ocean so that it can hide its freakish visage. You really only want to hug the top half. Oh, and the new face is Lindsay, one of Conrad's new roommates! (There's a roommate shuffle going on - we'll do a follow-up comic at some point to clarify.)
This is one of the things we've been hauling ass on this week - the cover to JW Volume 1! Here are the inks - they still have to be toned/colored and then I'll be dropping some design on it Saturday or Sunday.
The BEACH set is up in the store! Each set comes with 2 8.5 x 11" prints, our largest yet! This is a limited run, pictured below:
And I don't get it!! I am just not the dancin' type, I guess. But John ... John gets it, he's all in his angry groove. He will dance you to death.
We'll have new prints up in the store at the end of the week - they are the two beach comics we had up earlier, the Cecilia and Delilah pieces. They're 8.5 x 11" glossy, on a heavy stock, and will be sold in a set! So that is pretty cool.
We were thawing a pork loin for the pulled-pork Yuko was going to make the next day, but Rook got up onto the counter and managed to drag it across the kitchen floor while we slept. He tried to hide it behind the stove, but he left a very literal trail, and we caught him quite literally red-pawed.
(To preempt any concerns - we contacted a vet just in case.)
I like how this one turned out - thumbs up, Yuko!
Driver's Tan is a road trip poem - nay, a road trip lament. This one goes out to all those people with one tan arm, hopelessly asymmetric till the end of summer. Yuko came up with this poem years ago, and it's been on the list ever since I first heard it. We wanted to share now that it's seasonally appropriate.
By the way,

That was really terrible and I think that's why we decided to inflict it on you guys.
Aw man, that damn E. The one train we don't use to get anywhere in this town and it's the only one that ever shows up. Go figure. Catching trains is something I thought I'd find endlessly irritating, but I think maybe the DC subway prepared me. The waits (for the most part) aren't terribly until you get into late night schedules. At that point you may as well just carry a lawn chair.
There were a few mishaps when we arrived in Hartford, but after our initial hazing everything went pretty smoothly. This past weekend we met a lot of folks, including Ryan Sohmer and Lar Desouza of Least I Could Do / Blind Ferret fame. They and their crew are very welcoming (and treated us to dinner!) - looking forward to crossing paths with them again in Montreal! I gotta say, I was impressed with how efficient they are. Ryan was very forthcoming with tips and info, and I really appreciated that!
RE: Busted Images
Hey guys! We're looking into the problem, I think it's on our host's side. Getting it resolved as quickly as possible, thanks for the heads up! If you can give us a rundown of what isn't working for you and what browser you're using, that would be great. Thanks!
WE WERE LATE. Actually, the doorknob got replaced this morning. Crisis averted!
Some of you are new to the site! Here is the quick version of Johnny Wander: charm of life autobio-comics with the occasional break for fiction shorts. If you've coming over from Girls with Slingshots, welcome - hope you enjoy it! And if you're a regular JW reader, we have a guest strip up over at GWS - it's a little NSFW (not safe for work), so don't click through if you or your employers are easily offended!
