It's true! I like dogs (especially wolfy dogs), but I just don't know as much about dog species as I do cookie types. My shame, my shame. I can tell you, my favorite cookie place in NYC is probably Insomnia Cookies by NYU. They have a heat-fridge that keeps the cookies warm, so it's like they came out of the oven every time.
The girl on the far left in the first panel is Katie! Yuko mentored her for a senior project during her last semester in FIT's Illustration program.
You'll remember the shirt we designed for Adam Warrock a while back - I just wanted to let you know that quantities are running low, and he may not reprint them - so get 'em while you can!
I'm keeping this short and sweet because I have a big ol' deadline Wednesday. Thursday marks the return of autiobio comics! See you then!
Cecilia looks pretty cute I think - third panel is definitely my favorite, nice work Yuko! That's the end of the arc, hope you enjoyed it. Hopefully we'll get to do a new one soon ... We've got some Maidens stuff on the shelf that will probably be the next color installment, whenever we have time for that. That arc will be about 10 pages - our longest yet!
Last page goes up Thursday! And for those curious, Yuko's been posting some high res shots of selected panels on her Tumblr.
Mass Effect 3 news came out at E3! Pretty exciting. Release date is March of 2012, oof. We're all aflutter in anticipation over here.
Keeping it short again, lots of work. See you Thursday!
It's been fun to write an arc with a bare minimum of dialogue. I'd planned to make a longer post about Yuko's process on these pages - no inks, this is all pencil! - but man, it's been a long day and this page turned out to be a little more complex than we thought. I really like that pull-out of the kitchen, though.
I've been saying we'd put the new t-shirts up this week, but unfortunately our work ran away with us and we just don't have it prepped. I hate to do this, but they'll be up on Tuesday come hell or high water. Sorry about that!
You guyssss we were at Big Apple Comic Con this past weekend which is largely a superhero show, and so we got to talking about superhero comics. The result was 3 pages of Batmen in their off-hours, when they're just kicking back and taking a break from being the Batmen we all know and love.
We also sat next to Arthur Suydam, who is the artist on comics like Marvel Zombies, Army of Darkness and more. We only got to talk to him briefly, but he was really friendly and it was a pleasure speaking to him.
The dog is a Weimaraner, and Lela's the only one who can say it. According to Wikipedia, the color of its fur also led to the nickname, "The Grey Ghost", which I'm down with. Because it's easier to say than Murmur ner mur.
There's a fine line to walk when it comes to being a regular! From my personal experience if they know your name it's too much. But if they know what you order, that's perfect.
A couple of things to talk about!
First, we'll be at Big Apple Comic Con in NYC this coming weekend! Come by and see us, we'll have books, t-shirts and more.
