Ananth's blog
We started climbing a few months ago with our friend L! We go to a gym that mostly specializes in indoor bouldering (although they have some belaying walls). The way it works is that there are molded plastic holds affixed to the wall, and the holds are all marked with different colors - each color represents a route, and each route is marked with a difficulty level. Anyway, there's been a kid's camp there for a couple of weeks, which is adorable - but they don't give a damn about safety!
I'm happy to say I've met similarly afflicted people, because there was a long period during which no one else understood my frustration. I've been given a lot of advice about using a straight or safety razor and special lather brushes, which I should probably try out, but the bottom line is that I end up with stubble (or a temporary beard) mostly because I can't be bothered to shave more often. It's just ... so boring.
All in all it took them about a week to warm up to each other. Here's a video Yuko made of Rook ... tolerating the kitten.
Yuko has finally crossed over from cat-video watcher ... to cat-video maker. No more comics, just cat videos. Sorry guys. How the heck am I going to print cat videos in a book? I'm ruined.

More kitten comics! We kept her in quarantine until we could get her to the vet for tests and shots, and this was the scene that greeted us every morning. She's a little hyperactive! Except for right now, she's curled up on the end of the couch. Quiet cat is my favorite cat.
The most consistent question in last time's comments was about her name. She does have one, but I think it'll be more fun to tell you guys via a strip. Sorry to be a tease!
Surprise kitten happened a month ago, and flipped our life upside down for a few weeks. We initially weren't sure if we were going to keep her, but then she and Rook became pals so that decided that. I'm sure we'll post some more comics about her in the next few weeks!

Oh, I just wanted to say ... you guys are my bros. Thanks for believing me about that wasp.
That's it for now! Catch you next week!
Another biking story. That wasp was ... it was huge. Someone in Brooklyn is doing experiments on wasps because that thing was not normal. When Yuko drew this comic I kept telling her to "draw that wasp BIGGER" but she wouldn't because she doesn't believe me.
Well, I am here to tell you. That wasp. Was not messing around. Definitely on 'roids. Definitely almost died due to unecessary wasp aggression.
He stopped at the next light one block up and waved to us, before peeling out around the corner (in his truck). He looked like a young Hulk Hogan. I'll always remember him.
Yuko's Tumblr contest to win a $20 gift certificate to Hey Chickadee is still on! It ends August 2nd, at which point one reblogger will be chosen at random.
Moments of delirium doing the heatwave. Did this happen? Didn't it? Who knows.
Yuko's running a contest over on Tumblr! She's giving away a $20 gift certificate to Hey Chickadee!, details here.
Laundry cat! She is really friendly and greets us every time we come in. Aw.
Thank you for the suggestions! I'm still going through them, there's some good stuff in there.
This blog is extra short because it's just too hot to function. See you next week!
