We've basically got the hang of the NYC subway system, service changes and all ... but every once in a while it throws us for a loop. What're ya gonna do.
Okay, so ... I set up a Johnny Wander Facebook page and I think I got it right? Anyway, I'll try to post updates to it whenever a new page goes up ... hopefully I'll be able to keep that going, we'll see. If it gets a good response I'll put some extra effort into it!
I think that's it for us! See you next week!
We're still catching up after CTcon, so we're just uploading Yuko's sketches from her recent visit to the Natural History museum.
Speaking of CTcon, thank you everybody who stopped by, nice to meetcha! And thanks to all 2300 people who filled the room for the Super Art Fight! Yuko won the headlining match, and she was pretty ecstatic about the whole thing. Here's a photo (apologies to Bryan Lee O'Malley),
This drink is super refreshing! Have it when it's very hot. There are probably some good variations on this recipe too, but we haven't gotten too adventurous yet. We tend to favor the white grape concentrate for this recipe, but you can get dark grape concentrate as well. Additionally, some of our friends have mentioned using regular old grape juice and frozen spinach, which I assume works exactly the same.
We've been sitting on this one for a while! These are the things we notice when we're out and about, especially Yuko. Admittedly, the super tough Dora the Explorer guy with his daughter was heart-meltingly cute ... his daughter skipped along holding his hand, and he had to jog a little to keep up. Aw.
I finished the existing Song of Ice and Fire books. My assessments (no spoilers, and keep them out of the comments as well please):
This happens every once in a while - you can run into people with surprising frequency in NYC. Opposite platforms of a subway station is a terrible place to have a conversation, though ... you just yell and say WHAT? a lot and then you check your phone and pretend like you don't know each other. Be cool bro ... be cool.
We just received the new batch of Catmera charms! They'll be up next week.
Yuko went to a baby shower recently! She spent it with two delightful girls, drawing them dragons and ... more dragons. And puppies.
We're getting more Catmera charms in very soon! So that is pretty neat.
Yuko's done a whole slew of Game of Thrones art over on her Tumblr - take a look if you're all bananas for the series. I'm almost done with the fourth book, and then I'll probably read Hunger Games.
It's true! I like dogs (especially wolfy dogs), but I just don't know as much about dog species as I do cookie types. My shame, my shame. I can tell you, my favorite cookie place in NYC is probably Insomnia Cookies by NYU. They have a heat-fridge that keeps the cookies warm, so it's like they came out of the oven every time.
The girl on the far left in the first panel is Katie! Yuko mentored her for a senior project during her last semester in FIT's Illustration program.
You'll remember the shirt we designed for Adam Warrock a while back - I just wanted to let you know that quantities are running low, and he may not reprint them - so get 'em while you can!
I'm keeping this short and sweet because I have a big ol' deadline Wednesday. Thursday marks the return of autiobio comics! See you then!
