We finally snapped and took a day out in the city because we were feeling a tad overworked. Yuko, George and Mike ate at Katz's Deli, famous in New York for its corned beef, pastrami and reuben sandwiches. I got some falafel down the street - I am nuts for falafel, it is so good. If you guys have any recommendations for a good falafel place in NYC or DC, do let me know! :)
Poor Death ... pining away over Cecilia. This particular journal entry takes place after their first date but before their happy reunion. One day we'll do a proper comic storyline, but in the meantime - please enjoy Death's embarrassing poetry about and doodles of Cecilia.
Sorry that the comic is up late - we're still hitting deadlines pretty hard. Luckily we'll have something to show for it - and to show you guys - in a few weeks. Actually we're working on a couple of things that we can't talk about quite yet. ): Frustrating!
Death has stacks and stacks of journals ... we were a little biased when we picked which page to share this time, but I'm sure you'll understand our interest. :) This is an idea we'd been tossing around for some time, since Death has a particularly long lifespan - and he seems the journal-keeping type.
Mostly repeating myself from Tuesday, but that post was up for a terrible short period of time - Girl with the Skeleton Hand pinsets are restocked, and there are 2XL and 3XL Mawzantine tees in the store. Also, shipping prices have been reduced.
AHHHHHH sorry guys and gals, we're so swamped. We actually laid the groundwork for a new short that we think you'll enjoy - and Yuko started inking the first page - when we realized just how much work we have. ): Unfortunately our client stuff has gotta take priority, but we didn't want to leave you guys hanging.
These were the spoils of victory during an otherwise unsuccessful Halloween-costume hunt at the nearby Goodwill. A couple of years ago my buddies and I went as tacky zombies - we found the loudest clothes and then ripped 'em up and poured fake blood all over 'em. I think that might be the only costume the thrift shop was good for ...
Yuko maintains a collection of mugs that she has accumulated through a rigorous and selective process over the course of many years. Not any old mug can make it onto the rack - only the elite of the elite. Take a look:
We went out for Halloween this year, to a party at George's friend Jisuk's place. It was a lot of fun! We got to see Beatles Rock Band for the first time (what a beautiful game!) and Mike showed us he knows the words to every song ever.
Our costumes (except for George's) were pretty slapdash. Here's the list, if you're curious:
Wh-whoa!! Reader Carl sent in this photo of the awesome Maw Jack-o'-Lantern he made for Halloween! Our minds were blown this morning.

Which reminds me, the Maw preorders are still open for some reason?? I don't know! But if you want to sneak in a last minute order before they really are closed, now's the time! Just click that handy image on the sidebar - the image that is now lying. For shame. ):
Ummm so I think this comic is my public punishment for eating the bread. ): I'm sorryyyyyy. To be honest, this is pretty much how it went down ... it was fresh out of the oven, I couldn't say no!
Yuko's Mom gave us a breadmaker! So far we've made white, egg and oatmeal bread, all of which were pretty good. The egg makes the bread a little fluffier? Yeah. I'm curious about the carrot, the poppy-seed lemon, and the zucchini bread. All of them sound delicious ... we will see! Anyway, if you like bread I highly recommend a breadmaker! Definitely a fan.
Our buddy George had clued us in to the Protomen a little while ago, and their music is a lot of fun - to sum up, Megaman Rock Opera. They played two shows last Saturday, one in Manhattan and the other in Brooklyn, and we went to both (Darryl joined us in Brooklyn) - ohhhh man. These guys rocked Manhattan, but they blew the doors off the Brooklyn venue. The drummer, Reanimator, threw his drumstick to George, who caught it - WITH HIS FACE. Awesome.
The kitchen sink was full! So ... wait ... no. Conrad what are you doing?!
Actually, I heard Yuko from down the hall and took it as a matter of course. Sometimes there's just spaghetti in the sink. These things happen.
Not a whole lot to say today! Got a lot of stuff ordered today, so there should be some new things in the JW store in the very near future! Oh, these will be going up pretty soon actually,
