ROFLcon this weekend!

Tue, 04/27/2010 - 21:11 by Ananth in response to much like niagara

One of many things wrong with Spacklehaus. Every time it rained, we got a little swimming pool in the basement. I sometimes imagine the house as an old prize fighter, on his last legs, doing his best but ultimately falling short. We were in Rochester this past weekend for Toracon, and we took a moment to drive by Spacklehaus - the red paint on the shutters has bled down the front of the building and the houses on either side seem to have been repainted, so it looks a little like a haunted house.

HEY EVERYONE

Thu, 04/22/2010 - 20:38 by Ananth in response to and then our cake had no frosting

Hey guys --

It doesn't look like there's going to be a comic today - we're swamped with work. We'll try to put up a little something if we can find the time, sorry about that! Things will be back to normal next week.

Have a great weekend! Hopefully we'll catch you at Tora-con!

Tora-con this weekend!

Tue, 04/20/2010 - 17:37 by Ananth in response to and then our cake had no frosting

A while back, George bought frosting for the pill cookies that went with his Dr. Mario costume. John's since been taking care of the frosting by squeezing it onto a spoon and eating it. What I'm trying to say is that give him the frosting and run away while he's distracted.

We ordered new bookmarks today. Those cat bookmarks will be back, and they'll be joined by a puppy bookmark and a Maw bookmark.

Hungry hungry hippos

Thu, 04/15/2010 - 16:30 by Ananth in response to that damned cat

Except a ... cat ... maybe I should change the title.

Actually, Rook is sitting here complaining that he needs to be fed - buddy, the comic's about you! You should be excited! N-no?

Aaron Diaz: A Love Story

Tue, 04/13/2010 - 22:00 by Ananth in response to lovely deinonychus

MoCCA was this past weekend - thanks to everyone who stopped us to say hello! Nice to meet ya. Aaron Diaz stayed with us and on Monday we went to the American Natural History Museum -- two of his readers, Michelle and Kat (I hope I'm spelling that correctly), were kind enough to give us a behind-the-scenes tour! We got to see where the bones are cleaned, stored, and we got a great sense of how people in that field work. Thanks so much Michelle and Kat!!

John you're the best

Thu, 04/08/2010 - 16:06 by Ananth in response to nothing personal

I couldn't make this up even if I wanted to.

This weekend is MoCCA! We don't have a table this year, but we will be circulating, so flag us down and say hello if you like! We don't bite at all, I promise. :) Additionally, Yuko will be at Drink and Draw Like a Lady on Friday night, so ladies can catch her there as well!

Ugh! Don't eat it!

Tue, 04/06/2010 - 09:24 by Ananth in response to because we sure weren't going to eat them

Quick note for overseas readers, just in case - a George Foreman is essentially a grill.

This actually dates back to Easter in Rockville, MD - all the easter bunnies were on super sale, especially the Palmer white chocolate flavored bunny. Wait. White Chocolate Flavored? Uh Oh. A quick look at the ingredients reveals,

Stay on your toes

Thu, 04/01/2010 - 14:18 by Ananth in response to nothing some epoxy won't fix

It's April Fools day, which means you gotta keep on your toes. Believe nothing! We had something planned for weeks, but sometimes work keeps you busy. Next year, next year.

Mike actually got up bright and early this morning so he could prank everyone he knows - he's already tried to get me twice, and ... well, I'll save it for a comic. Suffice to say he's been hard at work ...

Now we remember those bygone days

Tue, 03/30/2010 - 16:31 by Ananth in response to tales of landlords past

Mort was the landlord in Rochester, and he was an odd guy. If he was an action figure, he'd come with a bottle in a brown paper bag, a cigarette, and spackle, and if you pushed the button on his back he'd say one of his Mort-isms, in the voice of Watto (the little flying scrap dealer in Phantom Menace). There were a lot! You'll probably see more Spacklehaus memoirs in the near future - we talked about living there during one of our panels at I-Con, and it brought everything (hilariously) back.

I-Con this weekend!

Thu, 03/25/2010 - 21:46 by Ananth in response to one man's trash

You guys might recall this comic from way back when - sometimes dreams do come true.

Hey guys! I know many of you are headed to PAX East, but we will be at I-Con in Long Island this weekend! If you're free and in the area, come by and say hello. We'll be bringing all the JW merch we can carry, and we'd love to say hey! We'll be sharing a table with Mookie of Dominic Deegan
