SPX

Tue, 09/29/2009 - 10:58 by Ananth in response to how to ensure yuko never wears a skirt again

Yuko wore a skirt the first day of SPX, which as we have previously established is mighty unusual! It was mega cute, though - despite all of the exclamations, she got plenty of compliments. And despite that huge grin she drew me with in the first panel, it wasn't my idea for her to wear it! Totally self-motivated. She also got a new haircut which she decided she hates but really it is pretty cute.

Mikaaaaa

Fri, 09/25/2009 - 17:13 by Ananth in response to but how can I stay mad at you

Haaahahaha, ohhh Mika. You adorable little cat jerk!

Yuko and I will be wandering around SPX this weekend, saying hi to folks. We'll be there with George, most likely.

Oh, we got mentioned in the comics section on Reddit! Thank you to whoever reddited that.

Girl with the Skeleton Hand pt. 4

Thu, 09/24/2009 - 00:12 by Ananth in response to girl with the skeleton hand 4

Hey guys! We're a little later than we expected, but Yuko's been working into the AM to get this thing done, so here it is. Please give her a thank you! She's been working literally all day. Hope you enjoyed this little short! We'll be doing more, but we'll be planning them out more carefully in the future.

Yuko and I have been talking, and chances are this isn't the last you've seen of Cecilia and Death ... we'll probably see them again from time to time.

I, uh, also came up with some alternate takes on this story,

Comic will be up Wednesday!

Tue, 09/22/2009 - 18:01 by Ananth in response to girl with the skeleton hand 3

Hey guys! We were traveling on a bus all day, and as mentioned before these Cecilia comics take an inordinate amount of time (about 5x longer than a normal JW page) - the last page will be up Wednesday! After that we're going to figure out how to schedule these shorts a little better. ;) The lateness won't be a regular occurrence ... consider them growing pains. Thank you for your patience! Yuko is penciling away as I type, rest assured.

A look at what we do

Fri, 09/18/2009 - 19:32 by Ananth in response to girl with the skeleton hand 3

Sorry for the delay! Here's page 3 ... I love Cecilia's dress in the middle there, so cute. Death is lookin' sharp too. Yuko, you're blowing my mind with these pages! The last installment will be out next Tuesday, and then we'll talk a little more about Cecilia as a whole.

Comic delayed!

Thu, 09/17/2009 - 20:21 by Ananth in response to girl with the skeleton hand 2

Hey guys and gals! Just a heads up, Thursday's comic is delayed till Friday! These color comics take an inordinate amount of time, and Yuko's got to illustrate and color them between her client work, a huge chunk of which arrived this week. We'll talk about that some time, it's neat!

It's worth mentioning, I'm working on edits to a manuscript for a graphic novel! Not sure when it's coming out, but news on that as I'm allowed to say more! It's going to be illustrated by Yuko, though. As you can tell, we keep busy. :)

Anyway, sorry again! See you tomorrow!!

Oh man, sorry I'm a little late with the blog post! It's been a busy day and I finally have a minute.

Hey guys! As you can see, there's some new things on the site. First, color! And second, this is the first page of a four page short we're doing. We hope you enjoy it! Yuko worked really hard on it, and I think it shows - as Conrad said, she really knocked it out of the park.

A departure!

Thu, 09/03/2009 - 10:26 by Ananth in response to well, maybe your head would've been better

It's all trueeeee

Not really. Yuko recently told me she was getting bored of doing simple autobio comics, and truth be told I've been wanting to mix it up as well, so ... we're mixing it up! There's a little bit of fictional continuity for you. Yuko will appear without an arm for the rest of Johnny Wander. (not really) And naw, that doesn't mean the end of autobio comics! But we might be flexing a bit. ;)

We're going to be posting something awesome as soon as we get permission, so if you just checked the site, please check back later. ;)

It's a little different

DC subway doors are ... polite. They can sense if there's something in the way and will open back up to accommodate. NYC subway doors, on the other hand, are like the jaws of a cold, unfeeling beast. Here, Yuko has illustrated one such possibility in this scenario.

Poor Yuko has actually caught the worst of this ... she's had arms and wrists caught in the doors, and once they closed on her head (I had to pry them open as they actively tried to crush her D:).

It's actually not that scary once you get used to it, but ... be careful!
