I know this isn't really standard fare, but my friend Rhionna has fallen on some hard times: while between jobs she was diagnosed with brittle diabetes, which has resulted in stage two kidney failure. With no job and no insurance to speak of, she's currently taking commissions for custom shoes to help make ends meet.
