Dejima is really interesting! The idea of a buffer city for foreigners seems like an idea you would find in fiction, but it is very real. It also didn't work! Clearly. Today Dejima has been swallowed up by Nagasaki, and Nagasaki itself has very European architecture in certain places. Here's pictures from Yuko's trip:

Hey guys! We're going to do some more of Yuko's Japanese travelogues this week! These are from the trip she took in April. 

We're going to be presenting the awards in the graphic novel category for the Random House Creative Writing Competition tonight! We're a little nervous but it ought to be fun. I love the idea of creative writing scholarships. 

More Japan travelogue comics! Uni is sea urchin, by the way. Conrad and I once dared each other to eat Uni and let me just say that I was not into it. Not at all! I think we're getting back to our usual comics next week.
