Good luck George!

Thu, 12/17/2009 - 01:10 by Ananth in response to the ballad of groc brostar

Hey guys! Usually we try to do stuff that's a little broad in scope so everyone can relate, but this time we wanted to do something a little more personal. This is in line with George's sense of humor, which we thought we'd appeal to since we're giving him the original page as a part of his going-away presents. George is headed to Portland! We hang out with him on a pretty regular basis, so it will be sad times to see him go. George, your company has been a pleasure and you'll be missed! Also your cooking, that will be missed.

at least we have a nice view

Into the abyyysssss....

Moving up and down the stairs normally is fine, but moving furniture and boxes of books up them is a terror.

OH AND HEY, Steve and Mike are our two new roommates!  I think they'll formally get introduced next week.  But they exist!

Hardwood floors for miles!

Poor John and Yuko. They actually came in a couple of times in the 2 weeks prior to move-in to make the place spotless, and then everyone came in and tromped around in shoes. Dammit! Oh, and thank you to the Front Row Crew and Yuko's parents, who showed up as a veritable moving army and helped us get done before noon. Unbelievable!

MOVING FOREVER

Tue, 06/30/2009 - 14:03 by Ananth in response to don't go back to rockville

Hey guys! Sorry the comic posted late; it has been a crazy couple of days. We took last Thursday and Friday to pack everything, spent Saturday loading up the truck, and spent Sunday driving up to NJ to stow everything in a storage unit. Then Conrad stayed up until 4 AM pushing out some client work, after which he caught a bus to Rochester at 10 AM the next morning. Just call him Conrad Coffeemonster Kreyling.

I experienced a Rochester winter twice, which is misleading to say because Rochester winters never end. DC winters are considerably warmer and more pleasant, and there's less of a chance that some snowplow will pile snow in front of your driveway.

Rochester also laughs in the face of inclement weather - they don't shut down for anything. Alternately, DC freaks out if there's an inch of snow (I am okay with this, because you get a free day off).
