AND WE'RE DONE

Top is Choco and Sophie. Choco is Cassandra's sweet African Grey - Cassandra is a friend of Angela Melick, who we got to meet this weekend! Sophie is Shawn Handyside's daughter, who is adorable!

Middle is Jes of Three Panel Soul fame.

Bottom is Dave Stanworth, mastermind behind snafu-comics.com

That's it! The convention gauntlet is over! We're done. No cons for at least a couple of months now. For those of you who missed it, I just did Otakon, SDCC and CTcon three weekends in a row. I am wiped.

First and foremost, thank you guys who came by the booth to say hey! It was really nice to meet all of you.

EDIT: Ack! Forgot to mention that we met Rosemary, Randall Munroe (However briefly!) and Yuko's old pals Stefan and Emily! Emily brought us beer bread, which was amazing!

CTcon was a good place to meet and spend time with folks that we normally miss. Conrad and Rachelle were able to join us for the weekend, and we were all behind the booth making a general mess of things. Yuko and I got to have the pleasure of sitting down with one R Stevens and one Steven Cloud on Saturday night. We spent a couple of hours trading stories before we called it a night, and it was possibly one of the most relaxed convention experiences I've ever had. We also got to meet Angela Melick, whose comic Wasted Talent I read in one go on a quiet Sunday morning a couple of months ago ... she and her friend Cassandra are a lot of fun! She shared a table with Jeph Jacques, whose table was next to ours and who endured our company in a manner most stoic. We enjoyed his, and he tossed me a few recommendations for viewing. And after many, many years Hawk and I finally got to see Matt, Ian, and Jes again. It was a reunion a long time coming, and it was really good to see them! Jes worked her baking magic and made cookies, a fruit torte, a lemon almond cake and banana caramel peanut butter brownies. She taught us about the science behind cooking, which is delicious. On Sunday night I played poker with Brion, Dave and Scott. Dave won because he is crazy. He will go all in before he even sees his cards. And of course, the weekend wouldn't be complete without George Rohac, who helped make our convention experience great, as always. George is a scholar and a gentleman. Well, he's a man at least.

It was a nice wrap to our convention weekend trifecta, but as I said before, I'm wiped. So, I'm calling it a night! See you Thursday!
